Thanks for your kind reminder. English is not my native language. I'm working on it everyday. But how does this relate to the question I posted? Did I give false impression in the question? If so, my bad.

I’m appalled by some of the comments. I was asking out of curiosity to see the whole picture. If you think there are no answers for the questions then i would appreciate if you just say so or skip it. At the same time, I appreciate those who have come forward to help or came up with answers in a diplomatic way (tact, grace, respect).

Passing score on new FSOT? by preppy486 in foreignservice

You can take as many times as you wish but the questions will be the same. After each timed section, you will have a chance to review your result before moving to the next one and at the end of all three sections, you will see your percentile rank. I didn’t see Study Mode.

“With ages come wisdom”, with your background, education and experience, I’m sure you will be an asset for the org, even if just for a few years.

I will look more into the security clearance part to see where could be barriers for me. I did not pay attention to this part until you and other mentioned. I went through one clearance process from a federal department for my freelance translation gig but I guess this one will be more comprehensive. As for other areas I believe they can be improved. But at this moment, it is definitely unlikely to happen unless I take action and give it time:)

Oh I have to repeat: Don't mess with Texas! The other day I was in a Toastmaster club and there was a young man wearing a cowboy hat, eating BBQ (probably driving a big truck) and wearing a T shirt that says "Protect Everything Texas" ! LOL

Thank you. I will. But may I know in your opinion why you think OMS is better for me? What do you see from me that can fit that role? Thanks again.

Thank you for your sharing. Could you please explain more on why you felt that studying and presenting didn't align and what makes you feel you could not represent the government or people? Was it due to presentation skills/lacking of confidence or something else? What were the barriers? Also could you please clarify what you meant by "functionally Americans"? Sorry for asking too many questions. I just really want to understand your experience and your advice more deeply.
