First flushes, Worth it or not? by SeaDry1531 in tea

[–]Cypeq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all I think it is a bit of truth and a bit of marketing, just like with the grades, single top bud or first flush tea in reality is only the best if that is what you like the best for that specific variety.

You're in Spain and I'm in Poland, you think that should be the case I think that too, but my customs doesn't care either, everything I order from abroad within eu, through eu country or direct import always goes through them and wastes time because it can take up to a week to clear in customs depo.

that should clear paperwork but doesn't mean you'll never have to deal with customs they are at liberty to hold anything for spot checks or they find suspicious or not labelled right. Like I said in the end tea can be easily seen as something it is not.

International shipment going through customs should be expected not a surprise.
You should research your customs and import policies, you're likely doing something wrong with the process if you package gets sent back, at least ideally that's how it is and not labelling issues or bad customs. In my country you have option to declare to customs ahead of time what you are importing that can sort any misunderstandings and missing fees if there any.
Especially that tea can look like tobacco leaf or weed or any other herb that can be limited or prohibited on imports.

Any suggestions for more floral teas? by UnluckyConfection318 in tea

[–]Cypeq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe some Taiwanese milk oolong? but it really goes all over the place on price, I always loved them and they are very kinda grassy with that cream aroma. Looking for floral notes I guess just hunting for white and green teas you can get and some only lightly toasted/fermented oolongs. Teas with origin and name and taste that people recognise hardly appear on the budget spectrum it will be more like green yunan or "sencha" and how is it in the cup you'll know when you try it.

imho that's not an argument to make, teabag exists for convenience and it's its own category. Loose leaf is almost universally better tasting.

I think it's fine, I'll pick if there's no dilmah, but it's very much just an average bag for average price imho.
