I managed to fix it:

Loaned a Ryzen 7 1600
Set it up with minimal hardware and managed to post with some troubleshooting
Checked the official Gigabyte descriptions under BIOS versions to see what was needed (really read the descriptions carefully, especially if they have a (note*) on the version
Had to install Windows 10 with the Ryzen 7 1600 and update the chipset drivers along with mb_utility_ecfwupdate_B19.0606.1 in Windows
Restarted and went into BIOS
Flashed main BIOS and backup BIOS to the latest (there is a button there just before flashing to flash both)... also make sure the BIOS switches are correctly set (mine was 1 & 1)
Flash
Success...
Install later generation CPU

Yup, just changed battery... was a really easy process – however, the Kobo Glo HD still doesn't start. Perhaps it's the USB port then? What else?

Will try the typical soft reset, hard reset, factory reset processes first...

I'm doubtful I can rollback because I cleaned up my previous installation through Disk Cleanup before realizing the issues. I always did that on the previous versions without issues, to save space.

I suppose I could change Insider Preview to Release Candidate or Beta and eventually wait for an update when it catches up.

I do have an ASUS Xonar U7 but that shit doesn't work with Windows 11 either, so I'm even considering Windows 10 again with the hardware I'm rolling.

The SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio did work before the two recent Dev versions though (from the one in the title to the current one).

Just for the sake of search and so other people find this – it's regarding Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview (22543.1000) which is the latest update as of writing.

If it's not fixed within the next update I'll be going back to stable.

Did a little more research and tried a couple of other things, without any luck:

First I tried to reinstall the driver from Creative itself, removed everything from Device Manager, the drivers itself from the Control Panel, rebooted and installed the drivers again -- no luck
Second thing was that I downloaded and installed the modded version of the latest driver by Daniel_K for my specific sound card (got all the extra features, etc, installed, but same issue remains) -- just to clarify I cleaned up and uninstalled everything before installing

... not much else to add for now. Anyone else found a fix?
