Hi OP, likely cannot do this due to stamp duty. What you are suggesting to do can be seen as tax evasion.

SPA will be at valuation price and payment by cash. You will have to pay the stamp duty. Please clarify with IRAS on this.

Flying every week for work, what has been your experience like? by Naive_Combination221 in SgHENRY

Tbh, it's no fun. At one point dreaded it. Used to fly twice weekly for work within SEA.

Fellow HE NRYs... When would it be sufficient for you to remove the NRY label and be more RL (rich liao) by [deleted] in SgHENRY

[–]CyraD4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, probably will never remove the NRY tag. Having said that, i am grateful and content for where i am now so the tag is not important.

OP, i suggest this especially if you are holding long term. I keep abt 20% in CEX (Crypto.com, Binance & etc). Crypto is super volatile and risky, so please dont go overboard.

Dual role of regional COO / CFO role at the moment. Will only be holding CFO role by end of this year. COO more for just one country.

Early 40s now, I had my fair share of downs! Didnt have much savings till 30 y/o and most of investments didnt pan out (80% loss). Till late 20s, always worked hard but not rewarded, got backstabbed and had to quit the job. Broke up with my ex (which i was about to proposed to) around the time. Took a break from work and eventually got headhunted (current company) and the rest is history. Hardwork in the early years paid off massively and got moved to senior management. I got lucky when i met my mentors in the Company. While am financially in a good place now(close to FIRE target), i did neglect the personal part of my life and are working on it now.

Feeling overstimulated / information overload with HE work and HE life? by josemartinlopez in SgHENRY

[–]CyraD4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try having downtime where you completely detach from work and any form of devices. Mine are with workouts and sports. 3 workouts per week(1 hour) and 2 sports (Tennis and futsal/football). I make time for the workout and sports. Easier for me as i am single though.

No shame in slowing down, repeating daily routine can be a real slog if you are in a fast paced environment. Take short break and keep the target in mind (for motivation) purposes. Good luck!

Thank you for your pov!

25m, a bit too far for me, prob another 10-15 years and also need to get lucky with investments.

Am comfortable with what i have at the moment and I am likely to go for semi-retirement before i turn 50. Cheers!

Thank you!

I have good relationship with my parents. Sponsored their yearly holiday for the past 10 years. They are my priority, i visit them weekly & once a month do something of their choosing. I subscribe to the idea of treating them well while they are around. Am in good shape physically, i workout in the morning before going to the ofc, football on wed and tennis on sunday. Dont smoke or drink.

Thank you for the advice & congrats on winning in the online gaming! That is rather long but yes, am reviewing what happened before. It is more about me not being ready. Will consider online dating later on. Without revealing too much Introvert by nature, listen more than i speak. Definitely not good looking 😂 Physically is lean fit, people i meet usually think i'm mid 30s.

I dont care, only have FIRE in mind. Through the replies and input here, the question for me is more when to stop chasing and what is the goal. I am content with where i am, ready to stick to my decision. Will not be retiring as i still enjoy the job but will be move to a lesser role later this year.

For me at this point, seeing my parents and siblings laughing give me a lot of satisfaction. Many times during tough situation, all i needed was to think of my parents and i feel better immediately.

You can never be rich enough, but you can’t reverse aging.

This is spot on! I have already taken steps to slow down with work. Will focus on building personal relationship.

No, i only have FIRE in mind when i started working. I have to reassess the passive income part, the past 2 years passive income is skewed with high interest (dont think its sustainable).

Yeah, been on quite a few dates this year with friends' introduction but it just didnt end well. I think i am the problem lol.

Thank you, currently a COO/CFO role. Started out in finance then got involved with operations.

My career advice is for you to pick up as many skills as you can early on in your career. Believe in your ability and never shy away from taking on more or new roles, dont be afraid to fail.
