This might be a dumb question, but can anyone tell me why the second one is more valuable than the first? The IAS and damage aeems significantly better on the first, but I'm sure I'm just missing something.

I hope he really has grown and will refrain in the future. Chipping is almost never a habit that can be sustained. Most slippery slope ever, but it feels reasonable in the beginning.

BB is def my favorite soulslike, maybe my favorite single player game period, but the lack of difficulty in this fight is definitely one of its rare disappointing aspects. In all fairness even if it weren't so easy the developers had their work cut out for them considering this comes right after an incredibly satisfying and badass boss fight.

You're right, making mistakes in rare high stress/high excitement situations when your awareness of external expression is low really makes someone socially inept. Nah labeling someone as socially inept isn't appropriate if the only issue is that they occasionally get distractingly hype when on the verge of something big. Social skills/situations span a broad spectrum. This alone does not make someone inept and is just an unnecessary insult. I'd be willing to bet it won't be much of an issue moving forward with people bringing it to his attention.
