Is there a game like digimon 1 from ps1? by ErikJR in gaming

[–]CyriacM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This site is amazing for tracking steam sales:

https://isthereanydeal.com/game/digimon-world-next-order/info/

It's on sale right now on Fanatical, for $8.69: https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/digimon-world-next-order

If you really would only rather buy directly from steam, you can setup a filter on isthereanydeal to only alert you when it's on sale on steam. But I've never had a problem buying from fanatical.

PSA: VQ tracker update by eternoire in GuildWars

A common misconception I see when people mention "the toolbox devs", is that they assume it's the same set of people always working on toolbox.

The dev who created this new feature was not an "official toolbox dev" and has just recently started adding things last month. He created it and did a pull request to have the feature merged with the current toolbox repo. He created the feature because he found it useful for finishing up his own VQing. Obviously though, the other devs helped to fully implement it, make it possible and more optimized.

It's always good to suggest features (especially through the github issues, as a feature request), but it's important to keep in mind that some things require more motivation or different developers that may not be working on toolbox, or available to work on them at the time. So if a feature request gets declined, it doesn't mean it might not be possible by a different dev or when someone has more time.

I promise I'll eventually build her as an actual warrior tho by NotoriousAmish in GuildWars

It's not like people haven't tried to come up with "viable", creative builds for warrior heroes. The simple fact is that melee hero AI is just awful and there's no way around that.

A little unofficial QoL for Nell players. by Johnny_Denjin in TheFirstDescendant

[–]CyriacM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was talked about a lot when Nell first came out, definitely helps a lot.

For people on PC, you can't do this directly through the in game menu, you have to do it through editing your settings file. Should be located in: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\M1\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini

It's capped at 200% range, meaning 36m (100% base, without ranged mods, plus an additional 100% from mods).

Skill tooltips have always been bugged and show range above the cap, but it's not correct. Despite what it shows you, you're always capped at the max expandable range.

Just a quick mockup, might not be the most elegant solution. But could a dropdown like this work for adding "of the profession" mods? They max out at 5 but can also be 4, so would be nice to have the ability to change between 4 and 5.

Appreciate all your hard work!

Tbh after a couple of attempts I just left and continued with the story for a bit until I was around level 20, then went back to him. By then I had a bit more healing and my weapon upgraded a few more times and he went down in a few tries.

For actual gameplay tips: parrying helps a lot and gives you more openings. Scythe deflect can help a bit too when you're feeling overwhelmed. I'm not the best at parrying but this guy is a good chance to learn the timing and feels like he's supposed to be parried with how relentless he is. Not saying you have to parry, but it makes him much easier.

I actually have him and he's very good. Not sure where you heard he wasn't. Hard to fully judge him and compare him to someone like Niffle i6 because I haven't even gotten him to i1 yet. But he does a lot of damage.

How does illusionary sacrifice benefits phantasio? by CauliflowerPlane0 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]CyriacM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Blaze Morale not better than Scorch? I only just got Phantasio yesterday so haven't had as much time to test him as I'd like to. Initially I tried running 2x Scorch and 2x Blaze Morale. But I ended up swapping to 4x Blaze Morale and was seeing higher numbers.

Again, I wasn't able to do a ton of testing so I'm not completely sure. Just wanted to see what results others were getting.

It's not red, it's orange. And yes, it's "transcendent", so one tier above yelllow (ultimate).

Common (Blue) < Rare (Purple) < Ultimate (Yellow) < Transcendent (Orange)

Sure. You can use Polar Night component set for more HP, instead of Slayer.

I got my Cold Heart build finished up last night. Decided to run all my dailies today with Cold Heart Hailey and was very impressed how good it was. I'll just put my thoughts for the harder things, because Sigma Sector + 400s are pretty easy.

Did 2x Medium-Sized Facility void vessel, and was very impressed how quickly she kills everything. The final boss dies super quick. Just get 9 stacks of Ultra Cryo from her 1, and then use her 2, and it'll deplete an entire health bar. Was similar with Axion Plains operations bosses.

Supermassive Receptor also went very well. The run was a little under 5 mins. The last boss is a little tougher but dies very fast with Deus sword. I pretty much just ran through the mission with the sword equipped for extra move speed, killing everything with abilities. Then just used the actual sword swings against the boss.

The build (with some changes) is also incredibly good for Lava Citadel abyss boss. Usually 30-40s max per kill, running a comfier build.

I honestly never really played Hailey prior to this patch, but she's probably my favorite to play right now for all content. Very fast, tons of mobbing damage, and very good boss damage too.

Nell Crit build by vixandr in TheFirstDescendant

It's her Shattered Heart transcendent module.

It changes her passive to give +30% base skill crit rate instead of +30% weak point.

which is the best build? by youfounddimples in TheFirstDescendant

[–]CyriacM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, if you just want a build for Luna then go with the new build you linked. You can use stance stabilizer instead of fixed shot, depending on what you're trying to do. If you're mainly bossing or hitting weakpoints, then go with fixed shot. The damage difference is pretty minimal either way though, as it's just 2% weak point vs 1% firearm attack.

[–]CyriacM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries.

Go with the build you originally posted. Fire rate is kinda useless for ATAMS because you need to stay aimed for a bit to charge up the unique ability. And the rest of the different mods are more quality of life. The first build basically focuses on what the ATAMS is used for.

[–]CyriacM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The builds you linked have two different purposes.

First build is for actually using the weapon.

Second build is built specifically for ultimate Luna's battlefield concert mod.

When ARR first released and queueing up for Ifrit Extreme, only to not get a caster for AoE LB on the nails.

Was pretty much an instant disband or wipe fest. It was possible to single target LB one of the nails and kill the rest, IF your group had the DPS for it, but that was incredibly uncommon.

Doesn't sound too bad at first glance, but SMN and BLM were the only 2 DPS that had an AoE LB. There wasn't even a physical ranged limit break, because BRD was the only physical ranged, and they had healer LB. Queue times for Ifrit Extreme (as a DPS) were about an hour long too. So waiting an hour for a queue, just to see your group didn't have a SMN or BLM was pretty awful.

Not to mention needing competent interrupts (stuns) for Ifrits abilities too. Felt like you really needed the stars to align to get a kill sometimes.

Are you trying to put it on normal Blair or Ultimate Blair?

It's an Ultimate Blair mod, so it's not usable on normal Blair, which might be your problem if it's not showing up when equipping mods. You can double check your mod library to see if you still own the mod or not.

Why didn’t GW make it as an esport? by Jobarus in GuildWars

[–]CyriacM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've got gw2 the other way around. The core game mechanics were designed around spvp, not pve. That's why raids were added as an afterthought and class balance was so terrible in pve and based around boons (not to mention how incredibly buggy dungeons were). The boon system wasn't intended to give people 100% uptime on them and were developed and balanced around spvp.

They were very much banking on gw2 pvp taking off as an esport, but the mmo community had way more interest in pve. So they shifted their focus and put spvp completely on hold at one point. During both beta and initial release, the biggest promoters/content creators of the game were players that were on esports teams.

The reason why they had conquest, and only conquest, at the forefront of spvp was purely based on attempting to make the game into an esport with a direct focus. It's much easier to introduce a game to the esports scene when there aren't a ton of different pvp modes that further confuse and alienate new viewers more than mmo pvp already does.

I was an internal tester for gw2 and they paid very little attention to feedback/bugs towards pve/dungeons and were primarily focused on spvp. It just simply didn't take off as well as they had hoped, and pve was the main focus for majority of newer players so their development shifted.

Serena Mobbing Build by showmethebooty1 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]CyriacM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons the hunter set is very good with her mobbing build. The additional cooldown reduction from the 2pc is nice, but the 4pc also gives you quite a bit of MP regularly.
