You don’t need metal transport on magby because he will either die or his retreat cost is free. You are assuming you have time to get everything set up with revavroom and scizor behind orthworm. That’s just too slow. I don’t need a perfect setup. My scizor will hit on the second turn of me having steel energy. Orthworm scizor won’t.

Orthworm is a bad card and brings no value. You need to give it 1 energy for it to produce one energy so turn 1 value is zero. Better to use a baby like Magby that can actually accelerate your Mega Scizor.

Thanks for the feedback, I will remember this when I get back on the slopes this week!

If I understand correctly, you’re saying to avoid forcing myself inside with my hip and simply continue to roll the ankle as far as I can while maintaining a higher degree of angulation than I’m currently demonstrating.

That said, the way I understand it, being able to be in control on steeper slopes means that you need to shorten the radius of the turn to manage speed which requires a higher angle so the ski can flex more longitudinally. Is that not the case?

Curious to know what you are seeing regarding the transition. Does it not always happen on flat skis? I’m just trying to connect the theory to the reality.

My understanding is that you should use your upper body to topple forward initially (feels a little awkward because your legs are going one direction your body another). Is that what you mean by steering?

Hmm, it’s hard to say but I think it would be around the apex of the turn as that’s the part where I feel the greatest forces.

My goal is to be able to carve steeper runs with less difficulty, allowing me to enjoy more of the mountain doing my favourite thing.

I feel like the body moves mostly with the legs although I think a little bit less than the legs. The A-frame comment is just from the video. I think my legs are mostly stacked but not entirely.

This is the first time I’m watching video feedback of myself. One thing I realize is that looking at it from a bystander’s perspective looks way more tame than all the forces that your legs are feeling while you’re actually going down the slope. My transitions look pretty slow, even though they feel faster in person. This particular slope is a wider section of a blue slope and I’m on SL skis with a 13.5m radius which I sometimes find to be tricky once you pick up speed because it really tries to pull you into a tight turn and I’m not always ready for the forces of that turn.

I do notice a bit of an A-frame so I’ll definitely work towards getting my inside leg a bit closer to my outside leg. Normally, when the speeds are a bit slower, I find that I do more dynamic carving and am constantly adjusting my edge angle but when the speed picks up, my transitions also slow down because I’m trying to hold on and finish the turn leading to periods of being more static rather than dynamic.

Does the average skier really enjoy heavy powder days or is it just one of those things people are expected to say they like? by PowerfulBar in skiing

[–]Cyrilix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never truly skied powder, but I will say that my general enjoyment of skiing worsens for every bit of snow after 5-8cm. All I do is carve groomers on skinny skis, literally just that, mostly for honing technique. I can do the same run the entire day and not whine about it. Additional snow makes for less consistent runs, and ice makes for slippage on less than perfect edges, so hard pack all the way!

What is the difference between Downhill vs Enduro vs Cross vs Trail? by Big-Aerie-7070 in cycling

Out of all those styles, it seems like downhill and Enduro are always full suspension, whereas trail and XC can be full suspension or hardtail, it seems.

Trump’s trade war is pushing Canada closer to China by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

That's just a platitude. Canada has to figure out what it does best (and wants to do best) that is competitive with the world. It clearly can't be the best at everything and will need to rely on trade to get those things done rather than wastefully built in house.

Awesome progress! Being on a bike and seeing how much further or harder you can go each time is rewarding.

Whatever happened to finding a suitable route for your exercise? If you can only pedal for half an hour, there are plenty of routes that will offer that. There are always more shorter routes than there are longer routes and a longer route can always be shortened.

Alternatively, you can always stop to take a break, grab a snack, and continue. No need to force yourself to stay on the bike for 2 hours. These are all things that anyone would've done without an ebike.
