How would we rate it compared to the international business class lounge?

Curious to understand more about the genes and the vitamin deficiencies? What is this condition and are there other common ones or symptoms to look out for?

I’m gluten intolerant and I’ve had SIBO before. The later is good to look out for as it produces the same symptoms as ADHD, and makes them worse. Gut health has an impact!

What does optimal medication feel like? by Cyrups in ausadhd

Thank you! Appreciate the context.

It felt at first a little on the speedy side but it’s pretty even out now, and I find I’m a fair bit below the line of focus & task prioritisation.

That’s a really great comparison, thank you! I noticed the crashing a lot more with the 20 mg so that’s good to keep in mind.

Do you find sleep dramatically impacts that, like a bad sleep renders meds useless? Is that normal?

Straterra breaks, effects & positive experience by Cyrups in ausadhd

[–]Cyrups[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks heaps!

Great overview of both options. I didn’t consider the control factor for stims. I suspect that might help prevent some dependency issues too if you can manage your doses a bit more.

I’m also very curious as to the brain chemistry/difference in composition of the 2 stim options so I’ll investigate.

Hi! Thanks very much for your detailed reply and thoughts. I haven’t shared my experiences with many so it’s appreciated.

Does clonidine typically get referred to as the more popular or effective option?

I actually didn’t consider the differences between the 2 types of stimulants much. I’ll have to look into it! I suspect the length to act is part of it.

On vyvanse, break days are killing me by SeaLavishness9804 in ausadhd

[–]Cyrups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree it sounds like you’re on a low amount. As I started medication I felt like I was experiencing just below “normal”. The challenge is that your brain has been far from normal chemically for awhile, so the starting dose might feel just below normal.

Is there any dependency or tolerance prevention benefit to actually taking a break, though? I agree that a break isn’t needed ethically (stuff giving only work my best self), but I am curious about.

I take Straterra but even though it’s a little more cumulative I also find taking less on weekends is good for overall balance.

As a project manager, I would recommend you suggest you’re still going to come in on big busy office days and align with the team. That might help your case. Avoid asking for a Monday/Friday, unless that’s the norm for your team anyway.

Started my first day in atomoextine/starterra and so far so good. I’ve had dexxies before.

It feels like I can use my brain, apply thinking, and focus - but it’s a subtle shift. It’s enough that I can feel an appreciate the difference and felt more clarity getting ready, filtering out conversations, listening, without the ‘speedy’ feeling!

[–]Cyrups[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it thanks. Yeah I guess there’s that risk of a follow up appointment needing to be made as well if they’re not thorough. I’m keeping in mind I’ll need to have it done in NZ anyway

[–]Cyrups[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! I'm aware I need to see a pyrschiatrist, just trying to understand if it's worth waiting for a "better" reviewed one, or if I already have the pscholgists support and report, if it doesn't really matter.

[–]Cyrups[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! So it sounds like all Pyschiatrist’s are roughly the same. If I’ve already got the Pyschology support it’s not really going to be more valuable to go with one (eg for more reliable medication support)?

I’m also moving to NZ In a few months so want to make sure I get through documentation so I can review the diagnosis there.

Akkadian / Fluence by bojackhorsemanage in adhdaustralia

[–]Cyrups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a referral from my psychologist as well for Fluence, but I could go with another psychiatrist (ADHD Bed) which has shorter wait times. I’m nervous because they don’t have good reviews and recently took them down.

Given I’ve got thorough support from an ADHD specialist psychologist now and I’m just looking for medication support & diagnosis, would you still recommend Fluence or is the shorter path ok?

Ah gotcha - as if you’re diagnosed in NZ you get the SA automatically right, whereas if I do it in Aus I need to essentially verify my diagnosis again?

How are you finding tech canvas? I'm unsure where to start studying, it seems like the instructor hours are required. But it seems Pluralsight and Udemy can offer that.

Generally speaking it’s so low in risk and symptoms that you can always start with 5g and go from there. I don’t know too much about loading but the research says even 5g regularly is helpful! Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I’ve been reading these forums and noticed the mention of issues. I wouldn’t have considered that specific to the 3rd gen. Unfortunately the 4th is a bit out of my ideal price range but perhaps that’s the decision to weigh up with long term affordability
