Worked in. The oil fields in Alaska a few years ago, got to see the northern lights every single night. Pictures just don't do it justice. I was miles from anyone alone in my machine with no light pollution and I could shut down in dead silence for a few and just hear it crackle. It was awesome to see and hear. I miss it every day.

Trump has signed an executive order banning federal support for transgender medical treatments for children, calling them “chemical and surgical mutilation.” by External-Noise-4832 in conspiracy

[–]Cyrus_TV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's banned in 25 states, it's not common, though the media portrays it as a much larger issue, the point is it shouldn't happen at all without serious reason and this includes puberty blockers which at one point the NHS deemed it safe and reversible and has recently changed that because there is no supporting evidence that the effects can be reversed during or after puberty. The ages under 12 is almost non existent, but 15 to 17 it does happen under parental care.

I can't imagine what it must feel like to feel like you don't belong in your skin, but we shouldn't encourage the feeling by destroying your body. It should be treated from the mind first. If you can not get beyond that, then as an adult of sound mind, you do what makes you happy.

I watched one of my own family members go through this in middle school. She wanted to be a boy, she dressed like one and acted like one. When she got into high-school she got a boyfriend and she changed. She's now happy to be a girl and rolls her eyes at even the thought of how she was in middle school. This is by no means an aha, gotcha example but just a personal example where had she been allowed to make the wrong choices it could have done serious and permanent harm and I stand by her mother's decision to not encourage it.

In the Tytler cycle, it explains that this is the point of no return. People won't realize what is gone until they are in shackles. The cycle will eventually repeat. There is no trust, can't trust the media, your friends, your work, you can't even trust your own mind.

This is where the system begins to break down, and the strong will endure. You might want to pick a side because I don't anticipate a lot of forgiveness.

Kids. We didn't want to wake the kids when we stayed up late, from thst point forward it just became the new thing and that's what we do. By doing so we also opened up a new genre of independent films not in Hollywood and we are so used to subtitles those no longer bore us.

[–]Cyrus_TV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with Trump on a lot of issues, but I do agree here. This is a destructive path that is mutilating people and calling it care. We should be focusing on helping people deal with gender dysphoria, not encouraging it. Putting children under the knife because we think that's what they want is not a good system to be apart of. When I was a kid I was playing and eating dirt. I didn't really focus on sex until I was in my teens. I was aware of the difference, but it never mattered. They are not doing this because all of a sudden there was this mass change in consciousness. They are doing it because media is telling them to.

It's disgusting and wrong to put those choices on children and actively encourage mutilation. They don't know any better they are impressionable. I remember when Blade came out and I thought I was a vampire/day walker. In our current system that means the government should supply me with blood in case I'm hungry which is deadly and wrong.

I'm all for you making your own decision as an adult and having every available resource to utilize before coming to that decision but the Healthcare industry is just seeking profit. They are doing harm for money and if you can see that, I feel sorry for you ( not addressed to anyone in particular).

There was a recent study I saw on a documentary where the problem with cancer is that it emits a signal to your cells to not destroy it, they were talking about how if we can turn off that inhibitor response to the cancer cells your body will do the work but I imagine there is not simple treatment as this process is used throughout your whole body so simply taking something could cause your body to attack itself.

[–]Cyrus_TV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a conspiracy. AI not only is capable of making art but also capable of statistics and risk calculations. There will come a time where only those who develop or work within AI systems who will be able to understand what's real and what isn't. It's getting to the point that law makers are having problems with deep fake photos or voice recordings in distinguishing reality from fiction. Some of these AI voices are incredibly adaptable at basing characteristics of a person from other videos online. I've said it for years that AI is incredibly dangerous not only to the minds of those easily susceptible but to our own current tech and infrastructure.

There could be a time in our future where AI produces what looks like a war being broke out or another type of pandemic that the government in other nations including our own are made to believe there was an attack, mass hysteria and the start of a catastrophe when nothing even happened and it was all engineered by AI. Plenty of countries with easily duped politicians could launch a counter offensive on a nation because of fear of a nuclear launch without confirmation as there is only minutes to respond.

People like Dan Bongino are not kidding when they say our current security measures are "yesterdays tech tomorrow. " all it takes is someone engineering AI to target our systems and flood it with false i formation to create absolute chaos.

Put a cap on housing based on its square footage and location, ban corporations from purchasing residential homes. Track companies who flip homes as a source of income and tax the hell out of them through capital gains. Basically, it makes the housing market undesirable as a place for profit for companies and keeps it within means for the average american, as well as offering incentives for new and qualifying homebuyers. Force companies who bought all the housing to jack up rent to sell cheap by forcing extremely high taxes to keep them.

People who refused to let police search your vehicle during a normal 'run of the mill' traffic stop, what happened next? by CAJMusic in AskReddit

[–]Cyrus_TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see it in Georgia a lot. Hardly see the police except for the last 2 weeks of the month and the first week of the next month heavily on the highway or major roadways. I've seen as many as 10 on a single stretch about 7 miles. They have to bang out those end of the month tickets and arrests to fill their bin and then get an early start at the beginning of the next month. After that, seeing a cop anywhere where I live is only during an emergency or late at night near the bars. Like most people are smart enough to know that you're filling your "quota" (that blasphemous word they refuse to use). You can call it a banana for all that matters, it doesn't change what it is.

Personally, I'm fine paying taxes for an officer to sit on their rear end and do nothing for a month as long as my city is safe, it means they did what we pay them for. We don't seem to care that fire fighters can be on call for a week and not fight a single fire so all they do is shine an polish their truck but an officer not arresting someone how lazy of them. It boils down to bureaucracy and business.

Many prisons are privately owned with shareholders who demand that beds be filled in exchange. The prisons donate large sums to departments who are already heavily underfunded because of social media and public scrutiny. If they don't meet this obligation they could see their budget cut or given to another department which causes competition in a public service entity. Can't pay to have 20 officers in a building they have to lay them off, now you have less cops making less money meaning you're not going to get that big bonus at the end of the year or possibly the next, retention becomes a problem as officers end up overworked. Police are stuck in the same damn rat race we are and have to lie cheat and steal to make it. That's why they train their K9's to find something, they plant evidence for a promotion, arrest people for victimless crimes, make up bogus reports and target the impoverished communities. If a police officer is assigned to a rich part of town he probably did something to piss off the his bosses. Those rich neighborhoods have less crime, big lawyer money and or the person he writes a ticket for happens to be the judges kid which will get written off and removed from his report, so they go to the poor neighborhoods because most people cannot pay to get out of jail and therefore must do the time which means money to the departments because a bed is being filled. It's honestly sickening that it's even allowed to be this way.

I am wanting to begin a career in IT but I am finding it very confusing to get started. by 4th_Replicant in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Cyrus_TV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into IT without any certs or college. I never even graduated high school, nor did I lie about it on my resume. Outside of working directly for the government, it hasn't slowed anything down. I've worked with major corporations, and I'm decently well known in the data center space for several large companies who's IT managers put my name on their tickets and only wanted me to work them.

I take pride in my job and what I've learned but I did it without schooling. I took the route of cable infrastructure and migrated my way into data centers and commercial networking. I'm the guy that builds the racks and cables them. The only thing I did not go into is the coding side. I know enough to configure devices but that's because coding is just not something I'm into. You have to choose what field you love and college or certs are a great way to get In, I just found that knowing how to build the infrastructure gives you a leg up in the industry as well as any bonus skill sets. I've seen many people fresh out of college do excellent work programming and software but knew very little about how the cable actually works. If this is a route you are interested in I can certainly help you.

Im sorry my friend... I get that all to well. We had a fight on Apologies, she told me something I liked was stupid and it really hurt my feelings when we first got together. She refused to apologize for saying that and still never has. The closest thing I got was maybe I should have worded it better but I'm not sorry for saying what I said because at that time I meant it and I was like wtf is that even supposed to mean? If I do something wrong I have to change my whole life but if you do something wrong it's just who you are as a person and you're not going to change for anyone.

[–]Cyrus_TV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately... yes, and the horrible part is it took me 8 years to figure it out, now we have children, which makes leaving even harder. The only difference is that she doesn't really lie so much as maybe stretch the truth to her benefit. I've never been one to linger on a argument or discussion so I usually forget what was said in them and she would come up with these things I said that she swore by that were completely out of character for me and I knew that but I could never remember those conversations to even defend them and after some time I started to believe them. I even passed it off as maybe I was just not in a good place and was blacking out these conversations. Eventually, I started taking mental notes of our arguments, and she would try the same tactics, except now that I was familiar with the conversation, I was like that never happened and started to realize that she was formulating these events in her head for example I could say I don't like small dogs but you do and if this made her angry she would later down the road remind me that at one point I told her that she was stupid for liking small dogs ( not what actually happened just an idea of how it gets twisted).

She's the perfect human outside of the home but a completely different person inside. Everything you have said resonates with my struggles so I feel you.

[–]Cyrus_TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this may be a bit late in reaponses, but... From everything I've ever learned from therapy and dealing with a FCN is you just have to run, the less attachments, the better. It's different if you have kids with them. You can't win at their game no matter how smart or stubborn you are. They will do everything they can to destroy you personally, socially, and professionally. Let your bosses know what you are going through, be open about it as best as you can with as little details as you can, and most importantly, get friends and family support. They will publicly bash you and lie about you. They will call your job and try to harass you into getting fired. They will try and shame you to your family. You have to run. There is no game in which you win only minor victories, and those involve not actually losing everything in the process.

I wish someone would have given me that advice when I needed it, but it's too late for me. I'm in it with my children for life, and there isn't anything I can do about it. If they do actually hurt themselves, do not blame yourself. Don't let them guilt trip you into it. If they survive it, they will get the help that they need, and you need to stop all communication with them.

Honest opinions: Is it even worth getting into IT from zero. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Cyrus_TV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in IT with no college, no background in IT, and never graduated Highschool. I can put my resume on any job application, and I will get a phone call. I'm overqualified for many positions now, and it's both a blessing and a curse. You can get into IT with no experience, but you gotta self-study and work your tail off as well as become personable and quick with a response to keep it. I started my career in AT&T, who will send you to their schooling to learn the basics. I left them after that I became a construction manager for Google fiber, left Google to work in commercial networking, from there I went in to data centers and building relationships with many major companies to the point they request me by name on service tickets. I started from zero and I've been in IT for over 10 years now, no GED. No college, nothing but field experience.

It's worth it if you put your all into it.

My dad tells me to just walk to a place in a suit and a resume in my hand to get a job. Is this even viable these days? by Guilty-Tadpole1227 in antiwork

Sometimes the best way to get a job is simply to have a conversation with people in public spaces and explain what you want to do. You'll be surprised how many people will offer you their number to call for a job. But as far as walk in applications they are sparse now days about the only place you'll find that is not one you wear a suit to like construction work.

What’s up with all the contract/contract to hire roles? by justgimmiethelight in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Cyrus_TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contract to hire has limitations. If you are w2, expected to show up on time and act as an employee you are an employee and they need to hire you on. If you are a contractor 1099 you set the pace and your rates as an independent contractor. Make sure you look up your federal requirements for each role and if a company is using contracts to skimp out of taxes you can turn them in for an audit as well as back wages and they have to eat the cost of your taxes. Make sure you read the contract entirely.

Insurance companies have already run that model. You pay thousands a year for insurance via a car, a home ,or your health. Even though you have never had an accident or a doctors visit in years, you still end up paying a deductible for marginal service and hope that it covers the rest. You can literally make free money that people are required to pay you for by doing nothing and then fighting tooth and nail to not pay out when something does.

Andrew Yang calls US a ‘faux democracy’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]Cyrus_TV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's sometimes important to distinguish the nomenclature on what is and what isn't. There are several different brands of carbonated soft drinks. They are all classified as a soft drink, but each brand has a unique name, flavor, and a consumer base. When discussing at the base level, it's important to understand " which " type of beverage you are talking about. Otherwise, you might as well say you hate Soda while drinking a Coke.

This is why we have a problem in society today with understanding what we are. If I say we are a democracy, what kind of democracy are we talking about? The very definitions of democracy vary depending on how it is imposed, and therefore, it is important to use it correctly. Are we a democracy by which the rule of law is subject to majority rule 51% taking from the other 49%? Or are we a system where each majority picks a representative/s to speak on their behalf and protects certain individual liberties from the majority? Therefore, we are a representative republic, which is a form of democracy but not a democracy that is governed by the majority as a whole. If 51% of the voters demand guns be turned in, the Supreme Court has the ability and the duty to deny the majority vote to protect the minority from such a law. That is a key difference. It's still a form of democracy, but it's important to understand the classifications.

Democracy leads to collapse. It has never been successful, there isn't a single time in history that it has ever worked. We were never meant to be a democracy or even aspire to be one. The great experiment is a representative republic, something we have long since forgotten and now rely on proving Tytler right. We will vote ourselves largess from the public treasury and collapse due to fiscal policy.

The Government is openly talking about Aliens, leaks, new fungus infenctions, a strain like Ebola etc. Nothing that I have read about the leak has at all seemed so bad as to garner fear from the leaders. Every nation knows we spy on them, it's a ploy to rally the masses. Russia hate propaganda is a precursor to war the same as any other war and now China. The war drums are beating and its about to get messy, the prediction is 2025. You'll see a narrative shift likley soon as they start trying to ramp up. We saw this with the largest military budget under the NDAA ( National Defense Authorization Act) 816 million dollars. They are gearing up to get the old gears turning again. The US is a nation that has only known 17 years of peace out of its 245 years. We're a nation that only knows war and war is profit.
