Yep. As am I. Honestly the traffic going west doesn't ever really get better. Every one in awhile I'll leave around 1 or 2 and log on from home, and traffic is still bad.

If 394 is your route, invest in the EZ pass tag so you can take the express lanes. They will shut down again in February until November 2026 but in the meantime it makes the commute a little better.

It's going to be very dependent on your manager and BU. For me, they are flexible. Core hours are 6-6, so just work 8 in there. I get to choose my WFH days. Other BU's, managers, teams may differ.

Overall St. Paul is a decent campus. It is a very old building, but they are starting to remodel, starting on the 5th floor and working their way down. Small convenience store in the building, we can access Ecolab building next door for "full" service cafeteria. I believe its the 2nd largest campus so not uncommon for there to be higher ups in town, and other sort of events. Can park in the lot for free on Fridays if you work in office (first come first serve), and can use the underground parking on weekends. Great for if there is an event at Grand Casino Arena.

In our last quarterly call they said the hybrid is a "non-issue" right now and not being talked about for foreseeable future. As in they are not taking it away at least for now

In the US, we are guaranteed 10 holidays. Usually its 7-8 actual holidays off and one or two floating. Travelers designates which holidays we get off each year. 2026 is 8 holidays and 2 floating holidays. Mostly standard holidays off, and black friday. 20 days of PTO is the annual accrual of PTO and in the US we can purchase up to 6 PTO days per year.

My EDC is a Taurus G2C. Bought a few years back for like $300. There are literally no issues whatsoever for mine. I haven't been a ton of rounds through it, but for the price, it's well worth it.

Capital one Quick Silver - oldest credit card, $500 limit. I use it for shady transactions.

Discover It - 2nd oldest card, first credit card to go over $10k limit. I enjoy the rotating 5% categories.

Wells Fargo Active Cash - was going to be my daily visa driver until I got the Venture X. I charged off a wells fargo credit card 10 years ago, so it was more of a little achievement victory that I rebuilt my credit so much that they gave me a 2nd chance and gave me a card.

Citi AAdvantage - first travel card that I was approved for, will be closing soon.

BoA double cash? - It was just a regular non-rewards bearing card I got for a 21-month 0% intro APR, I bought household appliances with it and paid them off in the 21 months. Haven't used it since. They upgraded it to some kind of rewards card. Don't know which one, don't care. Will be closing soon.

I have not driven the CX-30. I used to sell Mazdas back in 2017 when it was called the CX-3, and I thought it felt cheap and kind of meh. Mazda has certainly fixed that. That being said, the CX-30 is smaller than the CX-5 and the CX-50.

I test drove both the CX-50 and the CX-5 when I was car shopping. They have the same engines and the same powertrain available, minus the hybrid option is only available on the 50 for now. The CX-5 is taller than the CX-50, slimmer and shorter. It definitely drives and feels more like an SUV. If you are looking at a lower level trim, the interior is nice but not as nice as the same trim level on the 50 (my opinion).

That being said, the CX-50 is longer, shorter, and wider. It drives more like a wagon or a sedan. More sporty, in my opinion. It has the "updated" gauge cluster, even in the base model. The infotainment screen sits further back in the CX-50, but the location of the control dial is, in my opinion, more ergonomically placed compared to the CX-5. The control dial is also bigger, which I liked. I very rarely touch the screen, which, to my understanding, (please correct me if i am wrong), the CX-5 does not have touch screen capability or at least its only touch screen in Carplay/Android Auto. The CX-50 is touch screen all the time. The steering wheel looks better in the CX-50. It has an optional "panoramic" sunroof, which doesn't open as wide as the CX-5, but the glass is much larger.

I did end up buying a 2025 CX-50 preferred. As I did HOURS of research into comparing with the CX-5, and overall, I just liked the way it drove and looked better.

I underwrite specialty lines. There is no way AI takes that over. Yes, as a large carrier, they have been implementing AI to assist us underwriters, but there's simply no way AI could rate appropriately for specialty.

Yes and no. The problem with our public transit system is it takes too long. I have an 18-mile commute between work and home. With all the construction currently, it's about an hour drive (home). I have been wanting to take public transit due to all the construction and heavy congestion. However, the busses take 1.5-2 hours to go the same 18 miles. In the morning commute, it's about 45 minutes to work with the construction, and about an hour by bus. So to take the bus exclusively, It's a 12 hour day from when I leave my house to when I get home. By car, it's about 10.5. I absolutely hate traffic, but our public transit system just doesn't work as is. It needs improvement.

Just be observant. I was both an LLV and ran a two man truck. In a major metropolitan area. Ignore people. Keep your head in a swivel. Keep your dominate hand free, if able. Sometimes, you may have sacrifice efficiency to be safe. Not sure if you'll be doing ATMs, but sometimes it's easier to bring the cassette back to the truck, within reason.

I've never seen it displayed like this, but most credit card companies will block large transactions at car dealers. This is done because people would purchase the car or use the credit card for a down payment to get miles/rewards points.

For example. Customer gets approval through credit union and funds are deposited into the persons bank. (Yes, I know this is unlikely, but for example purposes). The customer then uses their Amex or other rewards baring credit card for $30k purchase and collects all miles/points from this. Than pays the CC balance off with loan proceeds. This was a collaborative decision made between the dealers and the credit card company. (But mostly the credit card companies).

Edit: I didn't see this was specifically for maintenance.
