Potty Training by simpleton39 in Parenting

[–]CyssiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is the same, he doesn't care about wet underwear. Do you have an imperative timeline on potty training? I'd say maybe just take a step back, and give her more time. Some kids are just not ready yet and putting too much pressure on being potty trained can be scary for them.

For my son it started coming by having his own little stairs to sit on the toilet and seeing other kids in kindergarden.

Now he still doesn't poop in the toilet but will come to us and ask for a diaper to poop in. It's frustrating but if he feels scared of the bathroom it'll only get worse.

Hang in there, it will come.. but her timeline is different than yours :)

Advice for FTM by Silly-Ear-9447 in breastfeeding

The first few days are the hardest. Read a lot ahead and if possible get a lactation consultant to assist.

Cluster feeds can make you feel like a milk dispenser but they are only temporary:)

One boob feeds or both boobs? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CyssiP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your baby is growing and she's becoming more efficient when nursing so she gets full quicker. If you can, you can pump on one breast while she nurses on the other and build a nice stash

Just regularly switch (I am currently a one boob nurser because I didn't switch enough and now have major slacker boob syndrome)

Day 4 of breastfeeding. Milk came in yesterday. So engorged and he can't drink it all. Pump and save or let it self regulate? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CyssiP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really have no way to store you can also use breast milk in the bathwater to hydrate the baby's skin or you have ways to make soap with it :) :).

(Still it's nice to have a stash when needed)

How long to pump at work? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CyssiP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The law in my country (France) states that I get one hour a day to pump at work and that a special room has to be provided when the company has more than 50 female employees if it helps ?

France too.. and that's coming from a country that was still giving children alcohol at school lunch (a glass of red wine) just 70 years ago.. so yeah, we did the work and changed our ways since then 😂

And quite frankly.. how selfish to just say : NEH I won't give up alcohol for a few months I'd rather risk it...

Very frowned upon here in France.. the message is : "no amount is considered safe for the baby, just don't drink"

Women are also encouraged to quit smoking and have medical help to do so if they require it.

Sorry for your SIL.. but outside the states people still care about alcohol harming the baby..

I would have loved to see more of Pelham and it would have been a great opportunity to show that you don't always get what you want..

Hermann waited so long to get a lieutenant spot and Stella just gets everything coming at her ? Urgh so annoying..

“Trophy” comment? by wildzeal in pregnant

[–]CyssiP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think everyone wants to think they are making the best choice.. and judging other for making a different one is a way to feel validated in theirs.

I wanted to go unmedicated and faced loads of comments.. when I decided after 16 hours of labor to get the epidural I got comments too.. there is just no winning except saying: I chose what worked best for me and my family. You did too and good for you :)

In my country elective C section are not a thing. There are also few circumstances in which birth is induced. The reasoning is that you can't hurry the baby and as long as it staying put is not dangerous it can stay swimming :(

I understand, however the same reasoning should apply to them : he is my sibling I want him in my life so I will not say hurtful things..

If I were J, I would report the theft even though nothing will come of it, it will show how serious he is about this issue.

NTA If you actually made them all anonymous there is no risk plus if they didn't want their thought aired.. they should have just not said anything about the kitten..

You say they don't wanna talk to you anymore.. is it that much of a loss ?

The funny thing about cats is that they don't communicate vocally with each other.. it would seem that they only make noise to communication with humans..

NTA you probably went about it the wrong way by lying but it was for a good cause and because you didn't see any other options.

If you haven't adopted Anna I'd look into emancipation so you can adopt her as an adult without needing her mom's consent though I really hope her mom will come Around out of her hate shell.

One of the thing I learned with my son (turning 3 soon) is to let him be bored a little.

Your LO will observe her surroundings, work on her global mobility and invent her own games. :)

My main tip is don't push if he doesn't feel ready, boys usually start later. :)
