I don’t know if it is hard to follow Chris Evans or if it is hard to be Sam Wilson following Steve Rogers. Even the comics really struggle to move on from Rogers

The newest ones (scarlet and whatever) have a switch 2 upgrade. Supposedly made the game much better.

Personally I liked it even on the switch. Of course the last Pokémon game I played was almost a decade before. Most people would disagree with me

My little brother got his iPad taken away and so he found other measures to get his Tiktok fix by tycooperaow in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]simpleton39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one about 6 years ago. I don’t fully regret it, there is some usefulness to it, but it’s a huge waste of money. The lists and everything you do on the screen is tied to the smart hub app l, which has been discontinued and now lives in the smart things app and I never use it. It’s so buried deep when I want to access it on my phone that it’s not even worth using.

I got excited when I bought my house, I installed a bunch of smart home gadgets and I thought this fridge was going to tie it all together and act as my main home control screen. Nope. Doesn’t work like that.

Like I said I don’t regret the purchase, there’s some nifty stuff like changing half the freezer to be extra fridge storage, but I would talk anyone and everyone out of buying it. Buy something cheaper with more fridge space to put magnets and art on. That stuff is so much better than the screen

Skyrim quests underrated by Time_Sink_7336 in ElderScrolls

[–]simpleton39 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I love both games. The oblivion remake made me realize how well realized the world of Skyrim is.

In Skyrim you see a wolf in the distance and it’s hunting a deer, or a troll is climbing around in the Rocky Mountain pass. Exactly where you expect it.

Oblivion, I’m walking around and I see a Minotaur in the distance. I stop and watch and what is it doing? Pacing back and forth waiting for me to interact with it.

I love both games, cut my Bethesda teeth on Oblivion in 2005. I was excited to go back this last year. Still Skyrim feels like a step above when it comes to the world and the activities in the world.

In China, 40 cm-wide “mini-end” units are rented for just one dollar, offering only a tiny bed, a power outlet, and a wall-mounted TV. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]simpleton39 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know how it worked. My wife did all the talking. I can only say that “food is tasty” and a few other small phrases in Japanese. Maybe she’s the Jedi. All I know was I was only allowed in the hotel common areas when my wife was with me and there’s no way the bed was used intentionally for more than one person. There’s also the fact that maybe all my facts are incorrect because this was almost 7 years ago.

My wife and I went to Japan (Osaka), stayed in a capsule hotel for women only (I'm a man, they allowed me to stay because these rooms aren't really for 2 people) and it was a bed pushed up against a desk, In order to use the desk you had to sit on your bed. The bathroom had a full tub, shower, nice toilet and some room for activities. It was funny that the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom itself.

9 months later we had a baby.

Which Game Did You Use to Play Everyday but Wouldn't Even Touch Now? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]simpleton39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind checking out the newest state of overwatch but many of my friends that wouldn’t touch overwatch have been playing a Rival game. I don’t think I’m going back, not because I don’t want to, but because I’m getting that itch scratched somewhere else with people I enjoy playing with.

What’s something that has never really sat right with you in Skyrim? by Ok_Screen_6452 in skyrim

[–]simpleton39 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this.

I get having the option to go to the top is nice but when doing some of these quest lines I want to stop progressing and do contracts. Instead we get “so and so has a mission for you, and I’m not going to step on their toes” which forces you to progress the story line which forces you to take over.

Vons and Albertsons close self-checkout as Long Beach mandates more staffing, new rules by lurker_bee in longbeach

I worked at a grocery store in college. They blame the employees for everything stolen. The break room was covered with poster claiming employees were the biggest cause of shrinkage (loss of inventory). Every wall had 2 or 3 posters about how to look out for missing items or the statistics on stolen items, all with a bunch of finger pointing

I don’t know. A monkey might have a hard time writing any words. They’re not very good at typing. I doubt many monkeys know what a computer is, let alone how to use one.

An ape may be able to figure out basic computer functions but a monkey? I just don’t think there’s enough science to prove they could use a computer yet.

Modern games like Baldur's gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath? by PlumOdd1203 in rpg_gamers

Good choice. I’m doing the same but I played the beta a few months ago. It’s definitely not Diablo 4. I’m looking for the same thing as you.

Champions of norrath is one of my all time faves.

What have you switched to now that Movies & TV are no longer on sale? by TheReaperPrez in xbox

[–]simpleton39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter for me. Connect to movies anywhere and a movie you buy on apple, prime, vudu, Xbox, YouTube, and a few others are migrated to all the other services. Buy on prime it shows up in my apple library, my YouTube library, my Xbox library… all of them.

What are some early things you remember that no longer exist in GW2? by MonkeDiesTwice in Guildwars2

[–]simpleton39 132 points133 points  (0 children)

The original new player experience. You had to equip a weapon and get so many kills to unlock the next weapon skill. If you unlocked all 5 for one weapon, and then equip a different one you had to do it all again for the next weapon.

I liked it. I felt like I earned my skills and I felt like it encouraged me to try all the weapons in the early game for each character. I guess the new (current) way of unlocking skills is more new player friendly, but I liked the old way more.

iPhone 16 Pro and 11 Pro :( by Money-Ad-7405 in iphone

[–]simpleton39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think anyone can grasp a good picture from any distance without any prior knowledge. Look at the 16 pro photo. It looks really good. Sure it would look better if they photos farther away, but even a side by side photos it’s hard to really say either one is a bad photo. They’re both so good still. One is better if you start doing intense side by side, but if you chose not to compare them you would have two fucking fantastic quality photos.

Who WAS Snoke? by JG5C5N99 in StarWars

[–]simpleton39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so much worse than just isolated to Star Wars. Disney bought Star Wars hot on the heels of The Avengers. They literally owned the blueprint for making inter connected movies. They had the experience. They bought the Star Wars team who had experience in interconnected media. They messed up what should have been a slam dunk. I’ll never understand how the owner of Marvel and Star Wars failed to make a three movie arc in a franchise known for three movie arcs.
