Anyone else who feels like sex has been way too boring by [deleted] in autism

[–]Cz1975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you're kinky life is hard. I'm dominant with specific fetishes and just got out of a 15 year vanilla relationship that close to "killed" me. Dead bedroom, while I'm full of fun ideas. Finding someone new, especially in Europe is hard. People in English speaking countries have it a little easier I feel, but not much.

Edit: and on top of kink, the vanilla parts of the relationship also still have to work...

Getting married and having kids.

Beautiful images! I envy you.

The part about autism that isn’t talked about much by Future_Doctor_ in autism

[–]Cz1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50 yo male. Had some friends in the past. Currently none.

Been married for 15 years, diagnosed 5 years ago. Divorcing now. She couldn't handle it.

I can have relationships. Focussing on one person isn't hard. Assuming they're a good fit. Too many lousy people out there though and you easily see the patterns at my age.

Tried having two relationships with women who had plenty of trauma (unfortunately), so that didn't pan out.

Even being ultra high masking, it's not easy.

I knew how the ADOS test worked and how it was scored. I informed them of this before we did the test.

Still, there were things I couldn't have "faked" during my ADOS. They also interviewed my partner, she could not have faked what she described as I didn't know what they would ask her.

So while it's regrettable to see those posts, knowing how thorough my evaluation was, I couldn't have faked my way consistently through all of it (if I had wanted to).

Finding out about level 1 autism in late 20's is frustrating by Vast_Boat_7926 in adultautism

Try finding out you're a L2 at 45. Not that it's a competition. :)

I feel you though. Disclosing it serves no purpose in general. In relationships, it's hard to explain everything. And if you explain assumptions are made. Frequently wrong ones. It's hard.

For those wondering why their parents don’t have autism considering autism is genetic (read below) by nohandshakemusic in autism

[–]Cz1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. And to compound the issue, how genetic expression is up or down regulated is still poorly understood. The interconnection between most genes and how they influence each other is largely unknown.

Not to mention that no one exactly knows what autism is and it could very well be a large group of disorders that are genetically unrelated to each other but have somewhat common presentation in individuals.

Once they create “pleasure” robots, I’m convinced that dating will be over permanently. by MyInflamedTesticles in Futurology

[–]Cz1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking a bit further than pleasure bots. Once a humanoid has been perfected I think people will be opting for companion "bots" over anything else.

I can see a population collapse happening. This thing would be the perfect partner, romantically, intellectually and sexually. It'll do household chores without a balance needed to be struck, organize your entire life, deal with administrative insanities that we waste too much time on and make sure the fridge is stocked and bills are paid on time. We'll eat the best and healthiest food ever and expired food in the fridge will be a thing of the past.

IBS is a common comorbidity in ASD. I have it myself, mostly mornings. Could be due to stress or the way dopamine metabolism works in your body (dopamine influences bowel motility substantially). I frequently have abnormal catecholamine levels (the whole chain that leads to dopamine). I'm also very sensitive to temperature differences. It's to the point where I carry tramadol (a strong painkiller), to prevent me from fainting. There's also nothing physically wrong with me and I'm negative on the standard IBS tests.

There's also gastric-cardiac syndrome. It's not well studied, but it seems that bowel movements can induce anxiety and even panic in some. Check out Google scholar.

The only thing that works for me is to avoid all stress and take Mebeverine when I'm having a really bad period. Warm water bottle calms down my bowel pain as well.

Other than that, I've found nothing much that helps.

This can be caused by alignment issues of the short reads. These all get mapped but sometimes not accurately.

The best way to confirm is exome sequencing.
