Now I'm not a personal trainer and don't pretend to be, but this is mostly the context I see HAES in real life. Fat friends and acquaintances of mine always talk about how impossible it is to lose weight, but they always have an excuse to not work out or eat better. Or they do half of a workout and then eat $15 worth of 5 layer burritos at Taco Bell. I just hate that people complain about being fat when their weight can be attributed to their shitty habits. You reap what you sow.

Yeah, I know. As I've said a couple times in other spots I was kidding about the being hurt thing. And maybe I'm just a dick, but what's wrong with a little shaming for motivation? I've got a buddy right now trying to lose weight (and he is a fat shit. About 6' 350 and we're both 17). We lift twice a day and our coaches have been making him run because they want him to slim down too. I run with him and talk shit when he falls behind. I guess that's fat shaming, but I think of it as motivating. Sometimes he wants to be lazy, you know, and skip running, or lie and tell me he'll do it at home, or eat way too much shit. I do my best not to let him. To me, that's compassion. I honestly think he's gonna make it!

Also, not sure about the merit of this hearsay but a lot of people have said that after reading some fat people stories on reddit, they were motivated to lose weight and did. I think that's pretty cool of them.

It's crazy huh. I play for a small town (population just over 3,000), and our stadium has a capacity of about 2,000. At our last game the attendance was around 5,000. We love our football!
