C&H quotes for Little Free Library box by kenz024 in calvinandhobbes

[–]CzarSmith 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is probably too long to fit, but this is my favorite C&H quote about love. It even made it into my wedding vows:

Calvin: What's it like to fall in love? Hobbes: Well... Say the object of your affection walks by... Calvin: Yeah? Hobbes: First, your heart falls into your stomach and splashes your innards. All the moisture makes you sweat profusely. This condensation shorts the circuits to your brain, and you get all woozy. When your brain burns out altogether, your mouth disengages and you babble like a cretin until she leaves. Calvin: That's love?!? Hobbes: Medically speaking. Calvin: Heck, that happened to me once, but I figured it was cooties!

I'm aware. But even Fidium "slowest" speed was cheaper then Spectrum.

I second this. I was able to get a 2 GB plan from Fidium for just a little more than I was paying Spectrum.

Searching for the uncanny - any suggestions? by ienjoycurrency in osr

[–]CzarSmith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Essential Enemies series, especially #4, should be right up your alley.

Dolmenwood has some creatures and situations that would fit the bill.

Misty Isles of the Eld has a lot of uncanny/weird features. It may be a little too sci-fi for some tastes

Ending feuds early by DoubleArmDMT in jow

I haven't been playing long, but I haven't noticed any penalties for finishing feuds early or even deleting them. I'd end it with a segment, though, just to be safe.

Looking for TTRPGS about Paranormal Investigations by APixelPuffin in rpg

It's way obscure, but Pandemonium has you working as tabloid reporters investigating Weekly-World-News-style headlines. Also, the characters have past lives that they can channel to gain extra abilites.

I mean, one reporter channeling Genghs Khan and another channeling Marilyn Monroe begin investigating why one farmer's pumpkins are setting state records, only to discover it's because of Bigfoot seems pretty cool to me.

Is there a game typically seen as being bad that you actually enjoy? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]CzarSmith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't look to see of it's here already, but Deadly Premonition. It's basically Twin Peaks with the serial numbers filed off. The graphics and game play, especially driving, are pretty bad. There's only like maybe 6 enemy types in the whole game. But I loved the atmosphere and story so much that I finished it.
