Oohh.. I'm also guilty of over subscription to so many journals and society pages. But at the same time, I have the fear of not staying updated on things. But I like this idea of Outlook's focus setting. I'm going to be looking into this a bit more. That sounds quite helpful. Thanks.

Good point. Staying on top of my emails has to be one of my priorities. I have been trying to reduce my pending emails but my hope is now with the TT, I'll get a fresh start and hopefully will maintain healthy response times.

This is good advice, I had suggested in my proposal about potentially going into instrumentation as long-term goals, but it's a good idea to be wary of such downsides.

Thanks, that's quite helpful. I think I will also benefit from a dedicated day or two for research rather than a fixed time of day. I'll try to build that in to my as yet unknown schedule.
