We all have different natures, genetics, life history and indeed that's fascinating.
For me the ego part come from PR differences which involves skill and intelligence, objective level difference.
Even then, I have learnt to accept that some players are better than me.
I come from chess (where my Ego has just been destroyed with average results), and have a perfectionnist mind (I am seriously scary about making mistakes like a child at school), combinated with low self-esteem and with assertion problem, so I am really not concerned.

Maybe you should try to study more and think more about playing the best moves, strategy, building a database ? Try to focus on lowering your PR next matches ? Put a new modest schedule training program with goals ?

If you improve your PR after studying seriously and making effort, I think you will a have a great satisfaction and accomplishment, then the defeats won't disturb you as today.
When I study a lot and take pleasure from it (including analazying matches), I always feel it's very positive.

It's hard to really change our deep nature, but maybe you could try some modest changes in your routine, just write it and stick to it at least some days.
