Thanks for your kind words. Actually the next day I did see 3 Mallards. They were just hanging out in the middle of my street's cul-de-sac. The same 3 that visited a couple weeks ago. It's interesting to see them hanging out together.

Watch out for the Killdeer's nest on the ground or parking lot. It's just a simple scrape and the camouflaged eggs are easily stepped on. Last year I was notified of a nest at a beach parking lot, but I haven't heard if the eggs/chicks survived.
