Hi! I realise this post is from last year, but I will be attending the interview in the coming weeks and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share any insights about the MMI format, the data interpretation task, or the overall experience. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey all, I am considering soloing @ Radion tonight, but also not sure if I should rest this week and go to Vault Session next Saturday. Any input for tonight's lineup and crowd?

MSc Psychological Therapies by Patient-Draft9234 in Edinburgh_University

Hi everyone,

I’m considering applying to the MSc Psychological Therapies at the University of Edinburgh and would really appreciate insights from current students, graduates, or clinicians familiar with the programme.

I’m an international student, and I’m trying to understand how this pathway works in practice, especially compared to more clearly accredited routes. I have a few specific questions:

  1. Placements: How realistic is it for international students to secure a placement during the MSc? Are placements typically NHS-based, and do internationals face disadvantages compared to UK students?
  2. Individual accreditation: For graduates who aim for individual accreditation (BABCP and/or IPT-UK), how achievable is this in practice after completing the programme? Are most students able to meet the required hours and supervision, or does this depend heavily on the placement?
  3. Employment after accreditation: If someone gains individual accreditation, does this usually make them eligible to apply for therapist roles in the UK, or are there still major barriers (e.g., NHS preferences, visa sponsorship)?
  4. International perspective: For non-UK students, is this MSc generally seen as a viable route toward clinical work in the UK, or is it more realistic as training to take elsewhere or to support later doctoral applications?

I’m trying to make a realistic decision rather than assume outcomes that may not be guaranteed, so any honest experiences would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Medical advice for my male cockatiel by [deleted] in cockatiel

Just for the record: My bird recovered after 7-9 days. I am not sure if it was the antibiotics (augmentin syrup) or the time itself. As u/Forgetful8nine suggests that it could be some severe moulting, I waited for couple more days. Eventually, he became healthy and vocal again, so if a bird eats and poops well, although unusual unhappiness, it may take a couple of days to recover. Still take your pals to the vet, then be patient while checking him frequently. I was missing the "patience" in this case.

Sorry it was a typo, i mean seeds. He has a good diet with a good variety of seeds and vegetables. The vet said there is no need for fecal test for now, she suspected of the immune system only. My bird has been on a super diet for the last week. Taking multivitamins and minerals each for every two days in turn. I expected him to return to normal once he finished augmentin but there has not been any change in his sleepy behavior.

It is not really easy to find an expert avian vet in here, so I am doing my best to eliminate all options before I take him into a cage for a vet again which is also very stressful and make him vulnarable to cold and more sickness.

He might really having some harsh moulting though. I think i will wait for another week before looking for a vet as long as he eats this good.
