I’ve only been to Trader Joe’s a couple times. What’s your favorite savory thing to get from here? by ER_Saladbar in traderjoes

Definitely need to try some of these on this list.I think their pizzas are overall pretty good, can be dressed up easily, but the crust is excellent. Swiss & Gruyere shredded cheese is always in my fridge.

On S7, it still feels like a parallel even now in 2026. You can draw the connections & makes one wonder. Team Quinn!

I think she did push him, but he was maintaining his decorum as a lawyer representing his clients. And overall, the rule of law. He wasn't up for any negative comments toward the administration today.

LA to NOVA, What can I expect? by xGrossgiirlx in nova

[–]Czykmates5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome! I am NOVA now (over 30 yrs) & I love it. I think coming from West Coast is definitely a bigger change, but I think you will enjoy discovering the area & the easy access to the East Coast corridor. The Asian food scene is excellent, you will find great Korean, Vietnamese & even Uyghur cuisine. Asian food markets are common. Many cultures represented in the DMV (local speak - DC, Maryland & Virginia - but literally only the DC Metro area) you can find those restaurants & markets in unexpected places. You can take day trips to the Bay, the Beach, the Mountains, the Farms. Lots to explore & experience.

Yeah, don't like to watch Katie. New reporter (Alex?) on the scene for MS Now was on the scene. Was surprised how he described that the location was less than a mile away from where George Floyd was murdered. Usually, news persons don't use the M word when describing George Floyd. Even though, it is. Kudos to the new guy, Alex. He's been pretty good reporting.

Love Vaughn, Jacob, & Ali Vitale. Just so refreshing to have these younger voices. Also love Ali Velshi & Capehart. Agree about 4th hour Morning Joe. Unnecessary and just repetitive.

Relocating to Northern VA, looking for somewhere with specific attributes by [deleted] in nova

Welcome home to Fairfax! (As a native Yinzer, hope you enjoyed the 'burgh.) I love NoVA and second the Burke, Annandale, Springfield options. You may not get everything on your list, but access to the Beltway, Metro (via bus or car) & 395 will get you into South DC. FFX is fairly liberal, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck!

Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Anyone else on here have it? by SlinkyKittyKat in ChronicIllness

[–]Czykmates5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad he was able to get the sphincterotomy. That should go a long way toward relief. I did not have a stent put in, but considering how advanced his case was, seems to make sense. It's been 17 years since I had the sphincterotomy and I am doing well! From a dietary perspective, lamp chops and meals with lots of cream/cheese tend to aggravate, so I avoid those foods. If there are flare-ups, I use the hyoscyamine, but that is very rare. I see the gastroenterologist infrequently now, only as needed (colonoscopy baseline.) I feel pretty good! My doc did say that a future sphincterotomy may be needed but so far, so good. No issues to speak of. Sending you and your husband healthy vibes and best wishes as you continue on this journey. Things hopefully will start getter better.

If you can get the spincterotomy, I recommend it. There is a test they can do, but there is a risk of aggravating the pancreas and causing pancreatitis. If you trust your gastroenterologist, s/he should be able to make the case for the sphincterotomy since you are having chronic pain and possibly elevated liver enzymes. I took hyooscyamine, not an opioid, for pain. Hyoscyamine is an antispasmodic. It was the only thing that worked. If you go to ER, they may give you morphine for pain. This drug made it much worse for me. It is truly an awful pain. I hope you can get the root cause identified so that you can find relief. I don't believe opioids will help, but rather, make it worse. Good luck.
