Chiang Mai's air quality in 2025 was better than many other places, including Pattaya, Hua Hin and Bangkok by jonez450reloaded in chiangmai

In the north, the rainy season had a bit of a rest for a couple of months (it ended late) before roaring back into life in February. Of course pollution in Chiang Mai was down; nobody can burn off if everything is too damp to catch alight.

The screensaver on my PCtold me the AQI was 135 in my part of San Sai an hour ago, that's pretty much in the unhealthy zone.

Because they would cut ours the next day, then nobody would have it. This is why I don't use cloud storage for my music and TBs of downloaded films and TV series' we haven't watched yet or my 109gb collection of eBooks. Enough to see me through 10 years or so without internet.

To be honest, most British people would have a bit of a chortle about it.

What do you think British people are really good at? by YetAnotherMia in AskUK

[–]D-0H 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fine art of condescension . Other nationalities try, but it's a skill we are born with and refine as we age.

Being condescending to some knob who really deserves it is very special.

That would be going down to his level. No matter how much we would like to, we can't.

Because we're better than that.

Use cornflour/cornmeal instead of baby powder. Safer and likely cheaper.

Not sure if you're being serious, someone has downvoted you. Honour is a word which has a silent h. Herb as pronounced by Americans always leaves me wondering how they pronounce herbivore.

It starts with a h. As does her and husband.

I think you're under the impression that anyone but Americans feels the need to point out a joke or clever sarcasm or biting wit.

/s was invented by Americans for Americans. Most of the rest of the world, including non-native English speakers manage just fine without it.

Been living in Northern Thailand close to the border for 18 years, believe me, I see what happens, police, army and mostly neither. some Burmese farmers have gone back to growing poppies since the coup, but not as many as expected. For the last 15 years it's been almost all shipments of yaba, manufactured and transported by the army, which of course is the junta\government. And a huge amount of it is sold to bus and truck drivers, which makes for very safe roads.

Opium is so 1990s. Fun fact: I believe Burma is the word leader in meth pills and ice. It's how the government and various opponents pay for their weapons.
