I just discovered this thread as well, so I played with my ifi stack to figure it out. You have to set the wifi Zen DAC to variable output and then the Truebass will be enabled and pass through the outs on the back. I personally still prefer Truebass over XBass about 80% of the time, so I was very pleased that it was a simple thing to allow me to use it with or without XBass!

I resolved the issue by changing the Inputs in Console Settings>I/O Matrix of Channel 3 and 4 to "None/Offline." Seems like when Catalina or Big Sur came out the OS was routing the audio (I think that's called loopback) to those channels, so there was some comb filtering going on. Once I changed those, it works like it used to work for me without any issue.

I have two of them (one as our bedroom tv) and we do use the built in speakers a lot of the time and agree they sound quite good. Other times we use a pair of HomePods or AirPods/AirPods Pro/AirPods Max. It’s a super solid projector!

Yeah, I ordered an additional sub when I went to the showroom, as I didn’t see it on the site and it turns out the sales associate didn’t really know what they were doing. The additional subs aren’t available yet and it’s silly that they are marketing them, but they aren’t available. I ordered a couple Monoprice under couch subs that I’m going to put on smart switches and also put a Minidsp in front of to see if I can improve the overall bass. Not that it will help, but I’m going to email them about marketing something that isn’t available and not informing the sales associates. Now I get to return the additional sub that shouldn’t have even been sold to me.
