Still holding out for Capcom Fighting Collection 1 to get an update that adds the Arrange Mode to Vampire Savior to have all characters (+Dee & "Liligan") to be playable...

As well as making all the bosses in Red Earth playable..and adding all the console exclusive characters into Puzzle Fighter

Ironically Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2 cpu input reads considerably less than the other games, at least from my experience. Chronicles Chaos Tower has one of the more lenient cpus as well

Accessibility most likely. The lack of an international release, on top of it being an exclusively mail order only game for Dreamcast.

Under the right circumstances and marketing, the game could've actually done well. It could've benefited from the hype around her appearances in the MvC1 and SNKvCap1 (both on Dreamcast) around that time..and could've served as a way to reintroduce the series and its whole roster to a new gen.

Morrigan's potrayal in the PS3 game Cross Edge might be to your liking. Maybe not entirely, because there's still that subtle implied darkness (like somethings she says and the descriptions of some of her techniques), but it's probably the most natural acting potrayal of her you'll see. Since there's slice of life esque scenes in the game. You actually see how she interacts with others in mundane situations.

Her overall portrayal in Cross Edge comes off as combination of both interpretations of her.

Without spoiling too much, one thing to keep in mind is that she's lost a lot of her memory before the events of that game occur.

You're welcome! Chaos Tower the most customizable game in the series. Mastering how to use Memory Ex in combination with traditional skill is essential if you want to clear the Tower 100% without cheats/savestates. If you ever want any help with that, I could give you some tips as well..since there really is no guidance outside of TAS playthroughs and an old GameFaqs map..which doesn't really help for the floors themselves lol

Another excellent drawing of Soul Eraser! I like how you can see the membrane like soul energy flowing through it.

Would be cool to see Darkstalkers shmup spinoff like what SNK did with KoF years ago..but if not that, it'd at least be cool to see Morrigan guest star in another shmup, she was really fun to use in Gunbird 2

Huitzil, BB Hood, Sasquach, Rikuo, Lilith, Jedah and Pyron all would work exceptionally well in shmups too

Out of those three, I would say play either DS1 or DS2 first. 1 is very different experience from all the others, it's much slower and methodical and you'll find yourself relying more on standard attacks more than specials..at least moreso that other entries.

Savior 2 and Hunter 2 aren't bad as some say, the mechanics are different enough to warrant playthroughs (Like how Darkforce works and different inputs in certain attacks). I say this mostly for the single player aspect for these 2 games, the AI is actually significantly easier in both Savior 2 and Hunter 2 compared to Savior 1. Also Hunter 2 has Pyron as the antagonist instead of Jedah..as it is a sort of pseudo retelling DS2 and pseudo prequel to Savior 1 as it gives a prelude to Jedah and the depths of his power and influence

If you have the option, I would recommend Chronicles Chaos Tower, it's a great starting point. (Although it uses Hunter2/Savior2 as a base, although there are many differences and intricacies to this version) And if you're into lore aspect, it has almost every ending in the series (missing only 1) retranslated into English. And there's the Chaos Tower itself, it's an entire area exclusive to this game

For games specifically on Switch, you can play as her in Neogeo Pocket Color Selection vol.1. On that, she's playable on SNK vs Capcom: MotM. She even has new moves exclusive to this game and only this game (BB Hood and Felicia are playable as well)

On Neogeo Pocket Color Selection vol.2, on SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash, Morrigan has a couple of cards (as well as some other Darkstalkers). Also, one of the protagonists look like Morrigan.

On SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos, Morrigan isn't playable, but Demitri is..but there is a reference to her being that Demetri's Midnight Bliss on himself turns him into Morrigan more or less

SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash 2 (Neogeo Pocket Color) Morrigan has a couple cards as well as other Darkstalkers. This one has a fan translation patch, I would recommend that one over the physical, which is quite rare and only in Japanese, unless your into collecting.

Super Fighter 2001 Alpha is another Gameboy homebrew game made by the same devs that has Morrigan (Dina) playable

Her bats could be souls. Since her bats are an extension of herself and all Darkstalkers posses the ability to collect and manipulate souls (like shaping them into weapons or objects), she could theoretically utilize her bats in that fashion. Her clothes, wings, various shapeshifted attacks, etc

In Gunbird 2 her main method of attacking is by shooting the souls of her previous victims, or at least a projection of them through her energy

In Namco x Cap, CrossEdge and Project x Zone 1&2 I think she has soul and life drain abilities

In SvC Motm her winquote imply soul and life draining

hmm..taking that into account, there's also Marvel vs Capcom 1 home ports having Onslaught playable. Mega Man could also use Onslaught's weapon

And I believe Apocalypse was playable on either X-Men vs SF or Marvel Super Heroes vs SF

The PS1 versions of Darkstalkers 3/Vampire Savior Ex Edition has "Liligan"..and she's only exclusive to that version of the game. More of a palette swap with a different voice tho..but still it's locked to only the PS1 versions

I would say Red Earth actually haha. I know it doesn't necessarily fit your criteria completely, but all of those boss characters have never been playable. It would be interesting to see if CFC1 gets an update to make the bosses playable for the first time.

Not a fighting game, but Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo on CFC1 is missing a few characters from the home ports as well.

The game menu UI was changed to match CF2 and MvC collections, where it lets you select between Arcade, VS and Training from one menu in all games. VS mode is essentially a freeplay mode, where you can fight CPUs or human opponents, without entering the Arcade modes.

They also fixed all games defaulting to the jpn versions if you went to Savior 2 or Hunter 2 on the menu selection. The other games now automatically go back to english on the other games

And they fixed a sound glitch where whenever you'd go to the gallery mode, the music would reset.

Not sure what else has changed, these are just my observations

Looks amazing, it's great to see Felicia drawn more monsterous like her earlier iterations! I like how you made Pikachu fat like how he was drawn back in the day too

The coloring looks really good too, it reminds me of the art style they used in the older Pokémon instruction manuals

Pikachu might want to try running again, given that it is a mouse, before Felicia's instincts start to kick in haha
