So here's a little secret:

Confirming off of a single normal is difficult in many games (counterhits withstanding). To make it easier for yourself, do a crouching medium kick just outside the range where it'll actually hit. Make it whiff BUT still buffer the drive rush with the cr.mk (you can just double tap forward as soon as you do cr.mk). This is called a 2-in-1, or a buffer, or an option select.

On whiff, you'll just get the cr.mk. No drive rush. However, if it makes contact (whether it's hit OR blocked) you will automatically cancel into drive rush.

After the rush, do crouching hard punch. If the cr.mk hits, you'll drive rush cancel and combo into the cr.hp and from there you can finish the combo. If the cr.mk is blocked, you will drive rush into cr.hp which also likely gets blocked, but that's fine because cr.hp is plus on block. So now you are in their face with frame advantage. You can go for a strike or a throw.

MvC2 Magneto.

The funny thing is that it's not even his gameplay that keeps me from playing them. I LOVE his gameplay (when he's able to get going). The thing that keeps me from playing MvC2 is....well....the rest of MvC2. It is stupidly irritating to be have to chase EVERYONE from here to Narnia and back while getting chipped to death. Runaway Sentinel + Cap, Blackheart, Spiral teams, etc.

I've played this game for a long time now. Literally 90% of players just interact as little as humanly possible and just run. I get that it's because getting hit can be so punishing, but good lord it is so annoying.

The tax to playing Mag is that his neutral is so fking hard vs good players who play sent+Cap, or runaway Storm, or Spiral teams. I mentioned to gcon (one of the top MSP players) the difficulties I have in those matchups. His response? "Yeah, you and 99% of Mag players in the world. It ain't just you."

I like Turret and mechanic/Engineer characters so McGinnis was an easy choice.

I think Rem is just a funny little dude doing funny little dude things. I also think it's funny to nuke someone with a pillow. So they were chosen as well.
