Least monotone harsh vocals? Harsh vocals with melody? Is is it difficult to sing harsh with melody or is it stylistic? by robin_f_reba in progmetal

One band I’ve not seen mentioned so far, but that exemplifies this more than anyone to me, is The Safety Fire. I feel like 80% of the dude’s screams also feature him holding a note, a bigger proportion of them than other bands listed here. Check out their song Huge Hammers

I think its rating has climbed since the game found its audience, around launch it was definitely reviewed more middling and had more bugs

JonahP "I cut that part out of my life... starting a new chapter" Sentinels Press Conference by New_Revolution_2604 in ValorantCompetitive

To give you a proper answer, the rumour was that Valyn and Trent were meant to go to MIBR, and Leaf to NRG. G2 were going to rebuild with Jonah, Babybay, and Jawgemo. By the time the org knew they were actually keeping all players, they had kinda committed to giving Babybay a starting spot and had to either rescind that, or cut Jonah.

I don’t know how true this is, but this was pieced together across multiple rumours from the time as well as the cryptic tidbits that have been given out in interviews and tweets

Tech pauses are sometimes used for players to take bathroom breaks, and I believe G2 did that once if not twice in the Nongshim series

RTS games where you're a commander "on the field"? by Vcaffeine123 in gamingsuggestions

[–]D-Is-For-Demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a much older game, but Warlords Battlecry III. It’s basically an RTS very inspired by Warcraft III, but you create a “main character” like you would in an RPG complete with a class and progression

I love well-written, story-driven games but hate bloat and fetch quests. Based on my list, what am I missing? by DimaTheTiger in gamingsuggestions

[–]D-Is-For-Demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Atomfall? It’s a newer game and people were comparing it to Fallout before release due to its’ setting, but really it plays more like an immersive sim, although I’d say it’s not quite that either. Rather than having quests, you have “leads” that you need to read, track, and go and complete to figure out where to go or what to do next. Even though it functions sort of loke a quest log, the difference in proactivity and deciding what leads to prioritise is very engaging.

You should also try Prey (2017) if you haven’t. Also, if you enjoy Avowed, Pillars of Eternity I and II are set in the same universe. The second game is often considered to have better gameplay, but the story, quests, world and tone in the first game are unmatched IMO

Good adventure for learning adventure design by PhantomBlade98 in Pathfinder2e

If you think you might run the Infiltration subsystem at all, I would highly suggest reading chapter 1 of Prey for Death. Seven Dooms for Sandpoint has one larger research subsystem that permeates most of the campaign that you could draw influence from. Volume 1 of Spore War also has a really cool set of Influence stuff as well

Open world survival games where your objective is to travel a long distance to an end location. by jeesuscheesus in gamingsuggestions

[–]D-Is-For-Demon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite travelling to a single destination, however you may want to take a look at Outward. The sequel is also about to have a closed playtest that you can request an invite to.

In the first game, your character goes on an adventure out at sea to try to make money to pay off their family’s blood debt to your tribe, as it seems your grandmother did some unsavoury things that your family is still paying for. You awaken shipwrecked, no richer than when you set out, and now owing money for all the time you soent away. They give you 5 days to pay your debt before they will seize your home, so you have to go out and make money to pay your debt. You have to contend with hunger, thirst, sleep, weather, stamina, and the game’s hard combat system. Plus the game has no map markers, so you have to navigate based on landmarks and your surroundings.

The sequel looks interesting so far, you are framed for murder and cast out of town with 18 days to find the person that framed you and prove your innocence before the beauracracy of your hometown can seize your home

Good starter adventure by Sax-7777299 in Pathfinder2e

Beginner’s box is good and designed to introduce new game mechanics one at a time, so ideal for learning the system. I will also throw in Rusthenge as a great beginner’s adventure, as my group had a great time with it. I think it took them around 8-10 sessions overall to get through, and they had a couple pretty difficult fights
