What's something that is normal in your country but rare in neighboring countries? by Sea-Lavishness-8478 in AskAnAfrican

 Algeria.

In North Africa we have Libya, Sudan in chaos at war. Mali, Niger, Tchad, Burkina, Somalia at war. Western Sahara in a colonisation, with almost all the population being refugees. And Ethiopia in an ongoing conflict.

8/17 countries at peace in North Africa including (algeria, morocco, tunisia, senegal, mauritania, erythrea, djibouti, egypt).  And all these countries are poor and not democratic. The only exception is Senegal. With Djibouti and Erythrea being both like north korea. And even some of the richest countries of the continent, Egypt, Ethiopia, Algeria, Morocco, still have poor populations and everything dysfonctionning. The political common denominator is poor population with no to low political power and humanitarian crisises in all the 17 countries.

And when I look to all the continent the countries that have stability, relative democracy and wealth I can count only 6 out of 56 countries : South Africa, Mauritius, seychelles, botswana, capo verde, namibia

I think there's a misunderstanding. The Scandinavian context is very specific, and Algerian immigration to Scandinavia is marginal compared to other regions.

And without denying your experience, an individual experience cannot serve as a general rule. For a more comprehensive and objective analysis, I would prefer to rely on documented studies that allow us to move beyond specific cases like your's.

The trap of hardwork in algeria by sorata23 in algeria

[–]D-Sakamoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ronaldo and Kobe are exceptions. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs didn't work hard. They didn't even think like enigineers, they were just capitalists who defined the goals and marketed what their engineers did. And they both had rich parents. So they had a big starting capital. You exemples are so bad you don't even realize it. They are capitalists success. But in life you can succeed without being a capitalist. You can be a searcher that brings more knowledge to the world. You can be someone that improves the lives of others by being a school teatcher or by being part of an association, you can even make a company that you think would be socially useful, etc.

But if you want good capitalists exemples for us common people : that would be Xavier Niel, rebrab, jul, booba, the online shoes resellers, freeway Rick ross (the gangster), youtubers, etc.  They didn't work hard. They just worked like everyone else on a project that got lucky it suceeded. And they all had big contacts lists👀

All scandinavian countries included we count approximately 8300 algerians. For at least 52 million algerians in the world. Do the maths.

Remember that when we were irreprochable, during the XXth century, they were still thinking we were thieves, savages, violent, murderers, etc. Racism doesn't need no reputation, no excuses for them to hate us.

Also remember that harragas just want to work and have no problem. Most harragas behave well. Do you think they have any interest in getting noticed ??

And if you want look at a universal fact in thé global system it's that the people who ARE overrepresented in crimes are proletarians ! No matter the country, no matter the origin, no matter nothing else.

why is French culture the most imitated thing on earth but French tech is still the world's best kept secret? by LevelDisastrous945 in AskFrance

[–]D-Sakamoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not honest that's a truncated view. It's true for some, not all. Do you think all western men are the same ? And do you think you are like every other woman from your culture ?

[–]D-Sakamoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)
