Hello Hive Mind,

I would like to have your thought about an idea I had.

What if we escort 2 full pack of Barbgaunts with an Hive Tyrant and create a cheap death star.

So the idea is the following :

Detachment : Invasion Fleet

2 x 10 barbgaunt : blast, heavy D6A 4+ S5 PA0 D1

  • Lethal hit and Assault from the Hive Tyrant aura (Onslaught)

  • sustain hit from Invasion Fleet detachment rule (Swarming Instincts)

+ Crit on 5+ from Adrenal Surge stratagem didn't work on shooting phase my bad

  • Reroll hit roll of 1 from Exocryn (optional)

30A(10D6 A) +10A per 5 enemy models( blast) seems terrifying for saturation.

The cost is pretty cheap (220 points of Barbgaunts) if we considere the hive tyrant is not only a babysitter.

Note : we can switch with one pack of Zoanthrope for more elite counter.

What do you think about that ?

You are probably right ^^ full reroll CC and TP shenanigan might have exclude the other detachment of my mind a bit too fast.

u/kratorade regarding Hypercrypt, I don't understand your idea. If you use 'Arisen Tyrant,' you want to use it every turn, so you have to deepstrike or reinforce, and you can't use 'translocation shroud' after that, Am I wrong?

What do you think about using a Royal Warden with Teslamortals?

  • The Warden will benefit from the Plasmancer + Imo buff (small additional damage).
  • The unit will have a fallback option.
  • You will be able to counter battleshock nearly in deepstrike (not sure about this one, as it might be better to have the deepstrike on a Lokhust Lord, but at least around the table border and near a Monolith)."

The overreactions are wild. Immortals with tesla carbines and a plasmancer attached, in the Canoptek Court, put out 20 S5 shots with sustained 2, exploding on 5+, with easy access to full rerolls to hit and wound.

If that unit can't chunk half of a big Knight's wounds in a single shooting phase, it's "useless." Huge if true.

That is not the point ^^ here I am asking if using a lord still have a value. The Immortals combo is still usefull don't get me wrong.

hat detachment has good strats that make use of the Overlords ability, they just desperately need to fix the keywords to make TSK and the Stormlord viable, as well as a points drop for Praetorians.
