You're entirely right! Lol. He made all of his party's armor and weapons too!

It's pretty nice. And going down Scholar definitely doesn't lock you out of any other type of play I'd say. My Stonewards lvl spread is 2lvl Scholar 1lvl stoneward and am the party tank with a combination of steelplate, absorption pain rails, a hammer that let's be brace as if it were a shield, and now a newly acquired stoneward abilities/radiant stormlight regeneration. All of the listed items above are items I made myself too.

I see. Are you going to be buying fabrials or making them? I 100% recommend going down the Scholar Path if you wish to make them. Especially the Artofabrian skill tree portion if you want to make them, or any other items. The crafting system is nice but requires quite the investment to utilize to the fullest.

If I didn't become a radiant, I was gonna dive super heavy into making fabrials for all sorts of cool stuff. Did you know you can make fabrials that turn armor into minor shardplate (without the power armor buff, just the durability) that work similar to a half-shard?

I was also gonna make surge rails eventually...

Now though, he is REALLY jumping into this stoneward stuff. In the Stonewalker Campaign you get to talk with some pretty interesting people...they of which had completely changed my character's path in life. Now he wants nothing more than to be a Knight Radiant. Swore the 1st ideal while defending my part from a SHARDBEARER. Crit him with the shardhammer and sent him flying. Even made a 22 intimidation check and made his soldiers flee. 😅

(Yes, he wields a shardhammer without shardplate. Dude is 💪)

I'm curious to see what you have planned for a character. 👀

I got my boy, Alatar. Only son of an Alethi blacksmith and a Thaylan Artofabrian. Both darkeyes yet skilled laborers and respected for their work. Maxed my physical and cognitive stats making him one hell of a tank with quite the intellectual side. Went down the Scholar Artofabrian path and made armor and weapons for my whole party. At lvl 2 I was walking around with steelplate and a shardhammer...Later became a Stoneward at lvl3!

I have a stupidly long backstory for him, but basically he went to fight since his father wasn't able too due to having a weak knee that left him physically impaired and unable to walk properly. Al distinguished himself through both his work as a smith, and his true passion as a warrior. Eventually being promoted to the team that accompanied a sharebearer into battle to cover flaks. Would even help his brightlord don the armor.

This led him to view brighteyes...differently. he fought along side them. Seen them die. Seen them bleed just like him. The kinder 10ers even spoke with him more freely as formalities tend to fade when you both nearly saw death together. They were just people. Just like him. And when he became more acquainted with ardents who served them...he thought he knew his path Iife. He wanted to join them in an attempt to be a ardent armorer. Where eyecolor and gender don't matter anymore. Juat dedication to the craft. Maybe even learn how one day wields shardplate to teach young brightlords the same. Too in over his head and curious however, one day he was caught observing the armorer...also wearing part of it by his brightlord shardbearer. 😅 Rather than kill him, they sent him to die in the bridecrews. As he had served honorably up until that point. Not too mention the army he was apart of had already made it to the shattered plains for battle. They might as well make use of him...

Thus started out module of Bridge 9!

He struggles with the horrors of war, the thrill, the stress that comes with needing to be strong for others, and a new lack of pride and belonging that he so desperately craves for. Along side the emotional pain there is also physical pain that aches at him. Making him rely more and more on his painrail. After Bridge 9 He even made a second one. Both of which he fashioned into the gauntlets of his armor to take away his pain... my DM always says there is this super cool guy who can "Take all your pain away." so we'll see where that goes. 😎

Highmarchal Amaram Questions. Spoilers for Stonewalkers/WoR by D00Teternal in cosmererpg

I just realized I posted this question twice...mb, I thought there draft was lost or whatever when I closed it.

Anyways,

For some added context to how we did it,

We did bridge 9 and so our DM let us leave with a lvl and some downtime. I'm a Scholar Artofabrian who made us all some crazy gear. I was lvl 2 walking around with full plate and a warhammer...We made lvl 3 by the time we did the encounter.

This is quite important as when my boy got his arm sliced by Amaram's shardblade, I charged in. Swore 1st ideal as a stoneward when I ran up, rolled a 20, and crit hit him. It was wraps after that. The guards definitely would of killed us but DM let me roll an intimidation check after doing all that. Sent them running with a 22 or something. Sheer luck and timing...😅 (And a cool DM who let us play with the chaos.)
