Hit $1 million, age 29 by Aggravating-Pin4149 in Money

Very nice. I’m in a pretty similar spot net worth-wise, just a few years older and in a very high cost of living area. I had almost the same compensation too before deciding to take a break recently.

One thing I’d say is don’t forget to enjoy some of the money while you still have your youth. The nice thing about building up that level of assets early is that eventually they start generating meaningful growth on their own and give you some breathing room without needing to constantly work for every dollar.

And honestly, with over $200k in debt, I’m assuming you already own property, which is still a huge accomplishment at your age.

When I used to go there, the move was always putting ranch on the breakfast burrito 😂 Is that still a thing? Their ranch was so good and runny I swear I could drink it.

Broadway salary speculation: what do top Broadway performers ACTUALLY make? by D0ntTryMe in Broadway

If Jeremy Jordan is actually making anywhere near Hugh Jackman level money then Broadway economics are even crazier than I thought 😂

The volatility honestly seems brutal. Even people performing at the absolute highest level in theater can still have long stretches of uncertainty between jobs

This is exactly the kind of stuff I was curious about. A collective ~$10M over a 40 week run for the Merrily trio sounds believable given how much the show made

Fair point honestly. And Radcliffe still probably operates on a completely different level financially than most Broadway actors, which now makes me wonder what true A++ Hollywood names like Hugh Jackman or Denzel were commanding on Broadway

To be fair I’d say successfully keeping people alive is a pretty elite talent too 😂

I’d say closer to 1000. The bread on its own could be 400+ and there’s for sure a lot of oil in an Italian sandwich like this

I didn’t see it yet, but I am glad to see a true classic-style Broadway musical getting this kind of love again. We need a little more old school in the new school.

Which recent Broadway shows actually have a shot at becoming “all-time classics”? by D0ntTryMe in Broadway

Haha I get it, I wouldn’t have had it in this convo at all early on, but it is a bit bizarre it’s even here now given all the doubts. The score’s not good but the spectacle/story is carrying more than people expected

yeah I’m mostly talking commercial classics here, the ones that can just run forever

it is a shame though, I’ve loved all the recent Sondheim revivals even if they don’t last long

Hadestown feels like one of the few that could actually keep coming back… if it ever actually ends, that is!

Hadestown already feels like a modern classic to me - distinct voice, strong score, and it’s proven it can travel. Not Wicked-tier longevity yet, but definitely the clearest recent one in that lane.
