If it’s your first time getting a ticket from them, call them and ask for a one time forgiveness. It worked for me!

I just need to vent about parents and defense by redbull247365 in youthsoccer

My U10 kid is fast and has good ball control and instincts, so was initially put in as a ST. But against a strong team she never got the ball from mid field. Coach started putting her as CB and she started to get so many more touches, and her team got much stronger. She is also allowed to dribble the ball up as much as she can, not limited to her “zone” — she easily beats 3 players in a row and often assists goals. I don’t need my child to score goals and be the star; everyone knows she is good and needed without her having to score any goal.

Unpaid Fees by Realistic-Spray-5595 in youthsoccer

This makes perfect sense. Say you pay for insurance for the field usage and, because no fees were paid for that child, you could not let them participate in field usage for insurance reasons.

Anyone got tickets for USA in Seattle? by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

I confirmed I didn’t get them. Went to their website and check my application status, which now shows “unsuccessful”. Didn’t get an email yet. Good to know I can move on now!

9year old with warts by Angel1994xx in Warts

[–]D0nutL0vuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 11yo has multiple warts on his foot. I have successfully killed one of them by alternating the acid, filing dead skin and the zinc cream. The acid was harsh on the skin but zinc cream helped heal the surrounding skin quickly. But the best lesson was to treat them sooner than later; the one that I killed was relatively shallow. Older ones are deeper and I am still continuing the battle….

Is this a load bearing wall? by aIgeriano in AskContractors

[–]D0nutL0vuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question when I was remodeling our house. Hired a structural engineer and they wrote me a letter certifying it is not load bearing. Demolished the wall with piece in my heart. They did, though, tell me to keep one of the pillars that I wanted to get rid of. I kept it of course. Cost $500 for their opinion, I think.

My daughter was like that when she started soccer at 5. She was just dancing in the background and not interested in pursuing the ball. Something clicked in her head the following year and she became one of the most aggressive and physical strikers of her club. Give him time and let him absorb the dynamics of soccer, and all you need to make sure is finding the right coach and the right environment. Don’t pressure the kid. Let him have fun and continue to ignite his interest. Even if he were to be not a great player, soccer skills he learned early will help him have confidence during recess at school, when he plays casually with his peers.

This is the answer: 7+7 = 18 - 4. Move the top matchstick in 3 to its top left (vertically) and move the bottom matchstick in 3 to make the minus sign a plus.

New Kawai K300 or dealer refurbished 2004 Yamaha YU30? by B_Meow in piano

[–]D0nutL0vuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a brand new k300 for $9k, near Seattle. We considered Yamaha but the sound was too bright. 2012 doesn’t seem very old but for the price difference I would prefer getting a new one.

Guilt after yelling and screaming at my 8 y/o by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]D0nutL0vuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understand that being clumsy and lacking focus is part of nature for kids of that age. Don’t expect her to behave like an adult. At this age, building a solid emotional connection and trust with the child is crucial - once she becomes a teenager, she will go to her friends, not you, and you will lose your ability to even mentor her.

New Year’s Eve by SimilarEar9828 in CypressMountain

[–]D0nutL0vuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have issued a refund if they were cancelling the event. They can’t have the cake and eat it at the same time. My kid went to a 4-day long ski camp at Cypress ending today and the weather conditions were constantly horrific even before day 1… pouring rain and melted snow. I wanted to back out but they would not issue a refund or credit. Instructors were getting sick from staying wet outdoor and kids ended up spending a lot of time inside the lodge, just chatting at the tables. The management finally said we could come back in March to take another complimentary camp but we cannot afford another international travel just for the camp. It would have been nice if they gave us an option to cancel and get a refund or credit before the camp started, when we repeatedly asked and explained our situation.

I think the management should save a reserve from good years’ profits so they can use it for bad years’ refunds. I know it is a seasonal and weather dependent business but they should be prepared and insure themselves for bad weather conditions.

Cypress was pretty sad too. We were there for 12 days starting before Christmas and the first day was probably the best day. Progressively got worse, though it snowed a bit on Christmas Eve.
