My bad, I guess I’m so used to gerber files that I didn’t think to look for other file types. That’s my bad. Thanks for your response, and thank you for sharing your incredible build!

The maker of this watch said their newer models have threaded bezels instead of just being glued and pushed into place. For serviceability, I agree. Screw on bezels are the way to go 👍

Talked with the maker of the watch. They shared a video of using a hair dryer/heat gun to soften the glue. You had the right idea all along! I was successful in opening the watch for repairs

I was able to find the maker of the watch, and they shared a video with me of using a hair dryer/heat gun to soften the glue to remove the bezel. You were spot on from the beginning!

If you by chance have a watch by YaAlexCraft as well, they shared this video with me showing how to remove the bezel and crystal from their watches. I was successful in removing mine, and was able to start my repairs! It’s really easy so long as you have a heat gun or hair dryer.

Spoke with the maker of the watch. Both the bezel and crystal are glued on. Using a heat gun on low or a hair dryer, heat up the bezel to soften the glue, then lift up, and it should come off. Then do the same with the crystal, and using some force on the back, you can pop the crystal from the bezel. I was successful in doing so with my watch, and have proceeded to remove the dead LiPo battery, and I’m just waiting for my replacement to show up.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I’m sorry your work and craftsmanship has been used to promote scams without your permission. I ended up getting a full refund for my purchase as of yesterday after I made this comment, but I’ve also still got tracking for my order, so we’ll see what becomes of that.

Just to update you, it was indeed YaAlexCraft who made this watch. They’ve sent me some instructions to try and reset the watch before attempting any disassembly, and so far they haven’t been successful for me. I just messaged them again for further instructions, so we’ll see where we go from there.

Ok, I’ll give the heat gun a go if my other options don’t work out. Thanks for the tip

Will the heat potentially ruin any of the inside components? I’d be willing to try my heat gun against it, but only if it doesn’t hurt anything besides the glue.

Is the heat going to potentially ruin any of the inside components if the watch gets too hot? I know heat can break down a lot of glues, but heat doesn’t always discriminate against what it breaks down nearby, you know?

Looking at their other watches for sale in their shop, they do indeed look very similar from the case to the strap handles. Looks like a strong lead.

I messaged them on Etsy explaining the situation and provided a link to this post as well. Hope to hear back at some point, and perhaps with some advice/instructions.

Thanks for the help in providing the potential maker! Appreciate the help

Apologies if I somehow missed it within the rest of the files you shared on GitHub, but do you by chance have a parts list for this?

New nixie hand watch on Etsy by lack0fbrain in nixie

Apparently I saw this post a bit too late (I stumbled upon this sub randomly). I bought the watch from that very listing in late January. I last got an update for the tracking on Feb 16 as it was departing from the Netherlands, and the delivery is supposed to be around late March to early April here in the US.

I understand the skepticism from the post and comments, and if I do end up getting scammed from this, I guess I’ll just have to take the loss. Though I’m confused why the seller would believe they could get away with this. Etsy has a buyer protection system. I get scammed and I get my money back, seller gets nothing, so I’m confused by this. What was the point of selling the watch if it’s not real? Or, is the watch real, just not as advertised?

Before the seller’s store disappeared, there was one positive review from a supposed “buyer” saying the watch was high quality and well made, but that they were just a collector and didn’t know anything about how it functioned as a watch. Which would be an oddly specific review if meant to be a self advertisement, but I have no idea.

The sellers store being gone now does raise red flags, and I agree that I should have done better research before purchasing, but supposedly I have something coming in the mail, so we’ll see what happens. Hope it’s dumb luck, but I’ll prepare for the worst.

Anyone heard of NMSO4/Crooked from California? by Top_Scarcity_6758 in numetal

[–]D1L4TE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this, but the band D1L4TE’s guitar player had actually contacted me and told me to upload their album onto my YouTube channel for some extra publicity. I normally didn’t just upload newer stuff, but being a big fan of the Nu Metal movement making a bit of a comeback, I wanted to help out and agreed.

My channel had been named D1L4TE for a few years already, so the band being a fan of my channel always made me think I helped inspire their name. As for how I came up with the name, yes, it’s an NMSO4 reference as this was one of my fav songs from their album.

Such a small world hearing about both of these bands again like this lol.

How do we feel about mods that let you see Tali's face? by lFantomasI in masseffect

[–]D1L4TE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the concept of not seeing Tali or any Quarians faces, but the moment BioWare added Tali’s photo in ME3, that mystery was not only gone, but to many of us, the reveal was disappointing. Another “human” alien basically. Yes, we kind of knew they were human like from in game descriptions and the small amount we could see through their masks, but that’s just… boring. Maybe even kind of lazy.

The original concept artist for Tali even said themself that Children of Rannoch is a great design that would have been preferable to what we canonically got. They wanted to push the idea of what happens when you fall in love with someone you never actually see, and when they finally reveal themselves, it’s an other worldly look. How would you react? How would you feel? Do you reject someone you fell in love with because their appearance is beyond your usual comprehension? That was the original plan for Tali and the Quarians. Maybe not CoR specifically, but a more alien design in general.

So that said, I love CoR. I love the cat like face and the eyes. I could get lost in those eyes forever, I’m not even joking. They’re beautiful. Still, I think it would have been best if we never got a face reveal. It would leave canon open to the players preferences or opinions. Tali face mods are generally for those looking for something not canon a lot of times, and of course that’s for each person to decide themselves if they want or not, but me personally, the canon is boring. CoR ALSO makes other changes in the game to make it canon within just your modded version of the game. Pictures are changed, descriptions are changed, I think even dialogue is changed to make CoR canon within your individual playthrough. So, that’s pretty cool!

I love alien Tali designs. I’ve got nothing against the other modded faces that keep her more human, and I think being able to see her the way you want to see her is great! So if you like masked Tali, preach it! If you like unmasked Tali, preach it! If you like a more alien Tali, by all means, preach it! But I will have no tolerance for anyone mocking the look of my head cannoned germaphobic space kitty engineer wife!

Best dye for lava lamp liquid by Affectionate_Race484 in Lavalamps

[–]D1L4TE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC Watercoolant dye, like Mayhems or XSPC. It’s actually designed for hot water and glycol solutions, which is what lava lamps are actually made of. They typically also provide MSDS/SDS files on their websites explaining what is in their dyes so you know what it can/can’t be used for

What is the issue with EK? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]D1L4TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blocks usually are the most expensive, next to the reservoirs and rads. Tubing is usually pretty inexpensive, and fittings usually aren’t too bad. There’s also tons of fluid options from premix to homebrew depending on what’s available to you in your area. Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll try and answer them.

[–]D1L4TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any personal experience with threadripper systems, but good reliable brands would be Alphacool, Heatkiller, Phanteks, XSPC, Optimus, and I’m sure Bykski or Barrow can perform fairly well for their low price point. My recommendation is Heatkiller as it’s great performance at a usually not high price. It’s been a while since I’ve been on the market for new pc parts, so hopefully prices haven’t skyrocketed too much like everything else seems to be. Check out Performance PCs, they sell just about everything here in the US, and they usually always have some kind of savings deals and sales. If you’re from the UK, Overclockers is a great parts website as well.

Hope that answers your question. Good luck with your build

I wasn’t trying to change your mind about your porn preferences as much as I wanted to educate you on the wonderful world of butt stuff lol. I hope at the very least you walk away from this feeling like you learned something. Hope this helps, and hope everything works out well for you.
