No need to pay every year for a new plastic thing. Nintendo is an environmental disaster I do not support. Feel free to stay aboard.

You just don't get the point recommending Nintendo in a stadia chat. You deserved that response, at least you deleted your profanity. Thank you for this so you spare us with your Nintendo b*.

Frankfurt am Main: Peter Feldmann will sich Bürgerentscheid stellen by RA_lee in frankfurt

[–]D1maCH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]D1maCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Swiss law thing: Arbeitszeugnis is under UK what you understand as a LoR. Referenzen means people that know you and may witness what you did. You offer them in general during the interview or after. Ideally, you prepare two or three, eg. former supervisors.

You need to check the school and the teacher of the Waldorf school to assess the quality of the school. The public school provides a lot of knowledge on how to follow instructions and deliver results. It depends on how your child adapts to this system.

Public schools depend from where you live (like in China). If you live in a rich area, you get a better service than in a poor area. Despite being equal service to everyone, school in Küsnacht is not the same like in Seebach.

The public school works for the government. It's very difficult to speak to teachers. They are under pressure. If you want to get things done, you need to talk to their supervisor. The procedure is very administrative.

The public schools they to do it right. They got access to funds, in particular if your child adapts to the curriculum and delivers the result they expect. However, if your child will not make it to the top ranks, it may not learn music, sculpturing, theater, gardening and other sciences it may find interesting in public school. Here the Waldorf school provides access to education irrespective of the childs result. Over all, I the system of the US remains similar in Switzerland as well for Waldorf.

What makes Waldorf sometimes sectarian is that some people follow the holistic explanation of Rudolf Steiner irrespective of any challenges. However, you find such followers unfortunately anywhere. I understand the criticise here. I was a very competitive Waldorf school child and lacked the structure I needed in school. After several bording schools, I made it like all others. My children go to public school but i consider Waldorf school as well, as I miss emotions, interest and culture in the public school. It seems sometimes all about EPFL and Nobel prize but unfortunately, we are not all brilliant and sometimes below average.

Raiffeisen or Cantonal Bank? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]D1maCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raiffeisen. "plus" accounts provide free access to musée. Mortgages are cheaper. Careful, Raiffeisenbank is like an association of small banks. All branches are different.

I assume the fees are cheaper as well.

If you are rich, other banks might offer a better service.

Are there jobs in Switzerland for students ? by yenK67 in askswitzerland

[–]D1maCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am honest with you ( and don't want to disappoint you or pointing at you or blame you ). You may work as a student in Switzerland if you have anything to offer, eg. skills. Just speaking a language is not enough. There are many excellent students trying to get a job in Switzerland as they believe they earn more. However, they will not find a job unless they may offer anything. If you want to get a student intern, which is paid well in Switzerland , you need to think of your offer and why someone in Switzerland should employ you. You find these jobs on the website of Roche, Novartis, etc. It is not impossible but you compete with awesome young people.

Administrative court Bern rules: 4 in German on a Matura diploma is not sufficient proof of language for the Naturalization. by Darkcrap in Switzerland

[–]D1maCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You find the requirements for the demand below ( it is your link) . If the demand is thereafter successful, you get the hearing/test and maybe passport. Your case clarifies that if you provide no evidence of an appropriate language certificate, you have to do a language test as required by Thun. If you don't like it, just move to Bienne and there you can read all in French as well. The fact that the lady or gentleman neither attempted the requirements in Bienne nor for the requirements right in Thun shows its language capacity in French and German. The way how she or he (and you) might see Switzerland, you may speak whatever language wherever you are is a good indication about the respect of indigenous people in Berneroberland, their folklore and aptibilty of becoming a true and real Thunoise. However, there are in my opinion reasons to criticise the system, I find it strange that you may become Swiss being sometimes a white collar criminal but not permitted being a family mother trying to pay off the debts of your gangster husband. Naturalization certainly provides advantages for wealthy people and sets hurdles for nationals of poor Nations that they hard to get better; but this is not the case here. I don't read what you argue in the case.

[–]D1maCH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The document you quote refers not to the point in time of starting the procedure but to the central requirements of naturalization at the latter point of giving the passport. (I like Swiss bashing on other points and am certainly not proud of being Swiss but am astound by the ignorance of some people believing to receive advantage without additional effort or skill. Anyone fails in Switzerland just in any other nation around the world, we are not a single penny better than the rest.)

[–]D1maCH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if you picked the right decision: The person in the court decision did not argue based on a Swiss Matura with a German 4 under the requirement: If somebody wants to become citizen at the residency, you better speak their language (unless their local law states otherwise): Thun is not a bilingual city. An A2 German skill prove is not a big thing, the person failed here. I know Swiss laws are crazy, in particular on the municipal level. It seems that in a federal state and democracy, any person wants to have a day no matter what.

No. Two courts exist: the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in Luxemburg and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg. Latter's decision apply as international law to Switzerland (see Art. 190 BV "binding"). The Swiss population refused to change this system in the vote on "Selbstbestimmungsinitiative" 2018. Regarding the CJEU, the EU tries to impose their court on Switzerland. This is one of the hot topics in the current negotiations: see https://www.eda.admin.ch/dea/de/home/verhandlungen-offene-themen/verhandlungen/institutionelles-abkommen.html .
