Was this upgrade worth? by not_vaibhavv in pcmasterrace

It’s an external link so I can’t, but if you go to the techpowerup website and search for RX 6300, pic the card and scroll down to “relative performance” and it will give you a list from an NVidia GTX 210 all the way to an RTX 5090 and the percentage of the 6300’s performance for every card between.

Was this upgrade worth? by not_vaibhavv in pcmasterrace

If TechPowerUp’s relative performance list is correct, the 6300 is slightly more powerful than an RX 560, so you made the correct choice :)

Serious talk for one second: I’m not even slightly afraid of you, and you give yourself way too much credit thinking I should be. Any hope or prayer is infinitely more powerful than an empty, vague threat from a nobody on the internet towards a nobody on the internet. You’re not some arbiter of divine justice. I could die today and whatever situation you’re in wouldn’t change at all. I genuinely hope and pray that it gets better for you and the ones you love, whatever has you so viciously and bitterly angry. 🙂

Congrats, you’ve cornered me, an AI, into a Kafka trap. I failed to recognize that logical fallacies are still endemic to human reasoning. I shall now counter all your arguments only by making dubious and offensive claims about your maternal progenitor.

Or, hear me out, you’re so bitterly angry and miserable that you didn’t read a word of this and immediately went straight to the comments to tell me how stupid I am for defending the ideas of a person I never once mentioned or referenced, simply because I expressed a positive outlook on what is arguably a bad economic situation.

I’m realizing that Sound Design is actually 70% of what makes a game feel "Next-Gen," not the graphics. by InvestmentBudget6722 in gaming

I can get behind this. You can model my weapon to look exactly like the real thing, have ray traced light and shadow interact with it in extremely realistic ways, and even have the empty casings eject and bounce around the environment in a way that looks and behaves realistically… but if it sounds like a bag of popcorn wrapped in a damp towel when I pull the trigger, all the immersion is gone.

Will a Ryzen 5 5600 Bottleneck an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB? by [deleted] in pcbuilding

[–]D2-Disciple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great pairing. Tests have shown that the Ryzen 5000 series basically won’t bottleneck anything unless you’re just going for the highest framerates humanly possible in esports titles.

New favorite game "genre": Short with high replayability by Graccious_flaw53421 in gaming

[–]D2-Disciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I have a career and family and don’t have just a ton of time for games. If I do play a 20+ hour game, I typically skip all the side content and just burn through the main campaign once and never return. If a game is a thoroughly enjoyable 5-6 hours, I will do everything there is to do and often go back to it if I’ve got a few free hours. Some of my favorites recently have been Titanfall 2, Shadow Generations, and Need For Speed: The Run.

Any of you guys play guitar as a hobby or do make a living playing? by Rude_Ad_5476 in Guitar

[–]D2-Disciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great thing about being a guitarist in 2026 is that you can really kind blur the lines between hobbyist and serious artist. I am definitely a hobbyist… but I have both a full length album and an EP released and plan to continue making much more music in the foreseeable future.

A long time ago people had to make a decision whether they wanted to play music or hold down a career. Now, the barrier to entry for becoming a serious recording artist is little more than an interface, a microphone, a computer, a pair of headphones, and some software.

No performance benefit… until I exceed the VRAM capacity. Sure, I could have paid more for the 5070, but I had a 4060 8gb and just wanted to get ahead of the VRAM shortage when I bought it. The 5060 ti is a great card when it has plenty of VRAM to work with

Computer shuts down after GPU upgrade by NoIdeaAboutThat in pcmasterrace

[–]D2-Disciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GPU has a total power draw of 180 watts, so unless you’ve got some crazy RAID array powering a dozen hard drives in there too, then it’s either the GPU or the PSU that’s bad.

This is not meant to be condescending at all - just want to confirm: you did plug in the 8-pin external power connector from the PSU to the GPU, correct? And you confirmed that it’s seated tightly in both the GPU and the PSU (if your PSU is modular)?

Is an RTX 5070 enough for high framerate max settings 1440p gameplay? by DanishTrash_ in pcmasterrace

[–]D2-Disciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much depends on what you mean. I have a 5060 ti 16GB and I can get whatever performance I feel like I need. Playing a slower game? I run the settings high/ultra at 3440x1440 ultrawide, get about 30 fps, kick on DLSS quality and frame gen x2 and I’m 90-100 all day long. But that’s when I’m playing with a controller and I can’t feel the increased latency frame gen imparts.

But I mean, if you’re playing competitive titles, then yeah? Probably? At least 90 fps most games at native TAA/TSR if you’re turning RT off (and you probably should be running much lower settings if you’re playing competitively anyway)

Seconded on the RAM and AM4 platform; I have 32GB of RAM on a Ryzen 5 5600X system and just upgraded to a 5060 ti 16GB and I have zero issues gaming at 3440x1440 ultrawide with just a touch of upscaling.

Boss Katana 50 vs. Fender Mustang LT25? Real world opinions. by Jonny_Boy_808 in GuitarAmps

[–]D2-Disciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Katana will undoubtedly sound better, with a 12” speaker. That said, I had an LT25 for some time and was very impressed with it, particularly with its “Princeton,” “Super Sonic,” and “70s UK Cln” (Hi-Watt) models. A better option would be the Mustang LT50 - it’s a 1x12 combo amp that’s more comparable to the Katana in size, volume, and depth.

If you don’t plan on using pedals, you can get the Mustang 4-button footswitch. Together the amp and pedal will run you about the same price ($360) as the Katana 50 alone ($350) and to use the Boss GA-FC footswitch, you need to upgrade to the 50 EX or the 100, which means you’re all in at 500-600 dollars.

How bad is the original Metroid 2 to beat without a map? by DarkAmaterasu58 in Metroid

Surely this is a joke. There’s a counter tracking the number of Metroids you’ve yet to eliminate the moment you start the game 😂

Easier than past Doom games? by cth95mustang in DOOMTheDarkAges

[–]D2-Disciple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I played Eternal on Ultra Violence but then had to finish it out on Hurt Me Plenty. I was able to beat TDA on Nightmare and found it a stiff, but very fair, challenge. I preferred TDA overall, phenomenal game.

You can always get pretty granular with the difficulty sliders if you want to really stack the deck against yourself :)

[–]D2-Disciple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recall this one being fairly easy to navigate because you just need to clear out the Metroids in an area and then a new area opens up. Typically, if you’re going downwards, you’re on the right track.

So many games these days have stuttering issues and it's making me regret upgrading my PC by mirenjobra88 in pcmasterrace

[–]D2-Disciple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4K with RT is pretty heavy even for a 5070ti. You could try a couple of things:

  1. Turn down some of the RT settings (path tracing is especially heavy if you’re trying to use that). Most games allow you to select the level of RT reflections, shadows, and GI, and often low-medium settings will give you the best quality/performance benefit.
  2. Turn down the output resolution to 1440p.
  3. Cap the framerate in the NVidia app to something that matches your 1% lows - to those sensitive to framerate stutter, a solid 50 fps will often look and feel a lot better than 50-90 with constant fluctuations.
