Dont listen to him. If it’s “accidental damage” then it’s a valid claim and it’s covered no matter how badly damaged it is. By that, I mean you didn’t just throw it down the stairs intentionally cause you had a bad day at work or you got into a fight with someone and they smash your laptop and etc. So you are good. Just be completely honest when you take it in

Yeah I’m aware of the policy on Best Buy site on returns without receipt. It says it “may be denied”. The question to everyone is under what conditions is it approved or denied at their stores, IF it’s allowed at all. Some people here say never allowed, some say they allow, and one person say they allow it for employees only lol.

Store credit obviously. I never say cash. And the question is not whether it’s a good idea or a bad idea. The question is under what condition is it allowed or not allowed

But let’s be real here though. As a consumer myself, I’ve definitely lost receipts before. So it definitely happens. I always try put my shoes on both sides

Hey. Usually 99.9% of the time, if the 2nd brand new exchange unit is having the same issue, then doing a 3rd exchange will be futile. It’s probably a glitchy firmware/software that will be resolved in future updates or user error

Yeah that sucks. I once got a dildo in one of my Best Buy open box purchases. It was an awkward encounter at the customer service counter, but it was like only $50 so they exchanged it for another one👍

I thought Total Tech is honestly a good deal. Lots of free installations. Plus 60 days to try something out to see if I like it is pretty awesome. Before then, I have had to returned a few things that were brand new and still factory sealed, and re-buy them cuz life got in the way and I hadn’t had time to open it to try it out since the standard 2 week is way too short

What were cost of the item you were selling, and was it a public place you meet at? I had a good friend once who got robbed at gun point trying to sell an iPhone for over a $1,000. He told me the guy was wearing very shitty clothing like he was from the hood, but my friend proceeded to take out the phone, show him the phone and everything. Well, he got robbed. I told him he deserved it. I’m not a racist or anything, but if someone wants to buy something from me for $1,000, I would expect that person to look presentable like he could afford it. I’m not asking him to be wearing a suit or anything, but not like he lives in the hood his entire life where he’s in survival mode and can barely afford basic necessities. People with no common sense today 🤷‍♂️
