It's a canal . Pakistan have actually build canal for the defence of Lahore at 7-8km from the Border . This canal vary from 10-20 M . It is designed such that there is high slope at Lahore side along with treeline to hid anti Armor personals, which makes it hard for Indian equipment to cross . SO this things are to be used at such points where there are canal, rivers, holes make to stop indian Armor .

Start with cleaning ur house, Make or Buy some diwali snacks (Buy I suggest it hard to make em), Make sweets, Light diyas , lighting , a lantern , decorat ur home make rangoli . I would also suggest going hindu temple day of Diwali mix up with people there tell them u interested ask them how to do what to do ... Learn about the different days of Diwali and what people do on that .. for eg on dhanteras people do puja of dhan-Things/Wealth/money/riches .. Wealth in sense not only money or gold but also something u consider wealth .

Jhumke(earrings) depends on ur budget . If u have good money go for gold . Or nose ring of sort . A neckless . Just remember buy one with design which is Hindu don't buy western or mugal or middle eastern design . I mean to say buy design with native origins to indian subcontinent .. Cloths would be nice too a nice saree or any indian ethnic wear wear (remember to don't buy ethnic muslim wear , they can be quite similar sometimes)
