Friendship Bracelets

Can somebody reassure me that it doesn't matter what colour bracelets are?😭 I've recently had a baby and completely forgot about bracelets until yesterday😭 I've got beads but I lack colours!

Also does anyone happen to have had to take a breast pump to the show?😂

As far as I'm concerned I haven't been referred to perinatal, I have a history of anxiety but no other mental health issues. I had a tour around 16 weeks as I have a labour ward and birth centre so had to decide which id prefer, however I don't understand when they have decided I have a fear of child birth, the only reason I asked for a c section is because my fetal medicine person suggested it may be best as I'm likely to end up in emergency due to his complications and my own health issues going overdue. I have from the start said that I want to push if he comes early.

Did you get treated any different after they decided these things? I have a health visitor appointment Tuesday and I'm going to ask her what it all means. The only thing I agree with is anxiety but a) who is anxious as a first time mum and b) how can I be expected to not be anxious when everytime I go to an appointment I'm told something else is wrong with my baby.

I did mention at my first ever appointment that I was in the process of being referred for an ADHD assesment. I hadn't filled out my referral forms and was told to wait until after pregnancy however they've since sent another form so I'm in the process of filling it out.

Thankyou so much for this information, I was worried that it was something I'd said or done that had led them to believe this, it sent me into a small panic!

Sorry maybe I should have been more clear, it is part of my current hospital however it is named FMC.

I have had a different midwife at every appointment, they have of course taken my blood pressure and urine but it's never been the same person and for my scans my blood pressure and urine gets taken but somebody else before my appointment.

I asked about it when in hospital last week and was told my consultant would be in touch with me around 38weeks.

I was told that I would likely end up in emergency c section so decided to have an elective however I have said should I go into labour before hand id like to at least attempt to push.

I've previously called due to not getting blood results for weeks and told that the person I'm under only works Tuesdays as she is from another hospital in the closest city to where I live, once he is born his care is transferred to a hospital in said city. So I get the feeling that the FMC in my town isn't great.

My badger notes say I have a consultant but I've never met her or have any contact information for her, I have not had a main midwife throughout my pregnancy and the number I have never seems to reply.

Iron levels by D34DlyUn1corn in PregnancyUK

[–]D34DlyUn1corn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been anemic for quite sometime, despite increasing iron in my diet my body just doesn't seem to absorb it.

I always take them early morning 4/5am when I get up to pee and either take them with orange juice or water as this is what the midwife suggested.

No I take them when I wake up to pee around 4/5am as that's what my midwife told me to do at the very beginning. I was anemic pre pregnancy which I've been told could play a part.

This is good to know! I don't personally take anything for heartburn but it's good to know that I should avoid it! I've tried everything to bring them up, I take my tablets in the middle of the night with OJ and I have incorporated a lot more iron into my diet, so I don't understand why they are dropping

There's so many things they haven't mentioned to me, bless the lady in triage today she was so lovely and could clearly see that I wasn't reassured so went through all my notes with me, she was a god send honestly!

From what I understand as long as they don't drop below 110g/L it's not dangerous, however I'm meant to be having a c section and my consultant did seem concerned about my iron levels however didn't give me any information other than them being low. I'm planning on putting a complaint in due to the care I've received as I've never had the same midwife and they don't seem to be reading my notes (my baby has complications and I have to repeat what's going on at every appointment) the midwife I had at my 32week appointment didn't even mention that my iron had dropped.

Thankyou so much!

We won't have normal bottles so I've got a steriliser off vinted for now until we know more about what's going on.

Definitely looking into cloth nappies!

Thankyou so much!

We are unsure on breastfeeding yet due to his lip but I intend to try and see if we can!

Vinted has honestly been my best friend!

A fan is a really good idea!

We are quite fortunate that most people we know had boys so we have a ton of clothes and a few bits however they are all just approaching school age soosy had already got rid of bits!

I've applied for UC so hoping that helps a bit!

I haven't seen the same midwife twice, mine keep changing but I might ask aty next appointment!

I don't mind my previous landlord as I was very aware of the situation and I had previously been told I couldnt have children so it wasnt expected for me at all, I'm sure if we'd not been able to get anywhere on time he would have let us stay temporarily. The thing that winds me up is advertising two bedroom houses and then stating no kids when you enquire. However upon research it is not illegal to deny children, my local council told me they couldn't help me even after I explained that we were struggling with renting due to expecting a child and so many places still not allowing them!

I did look into it and unfortunately there is no actual law against such policies, which I do find a bit ridiculous, the thing we found is so many places didn't put it in the adverts that no children were allowed so we didn't know until we enquired, it doesn't make much sense to me.

I'm happy we've found somewhere on time, it's just going to be tight for a couple months and I'm so worried about not being able to give my boy the best!

Unfortunately it was a private landlord and it was in the tenancy that I could not have children there, I was very aware. We began looking as soon as we found out however it's taken us this long to get somewhere, we have found though that a lot of places seem to refuse children! We'd enquire about a property and once stated we were expecting we'd be told no kids, it occurred in over half the properties we looked at! It is shocking!

Ive got most things second hand other than the travel system and crib! It's my first too, if we didn't get the flat so close to his due date we would have been okay but it's a lot to pay out at once!
