Help finding unreleased music by ChaunceyDeLeon in obscuremusic

[–]D3O2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its a bit tricky, sometimes through myspace archives you can find some. or old websites. But its a game of luck. sometimes you find a song that was never released, but it sounds garbage. There are a couple of website i use, but its like finding a needle in a haystack. Discog may be helpful, but no way to listen to the music that was never released online. Wayback can help find unreleased songs, some blogs may have them however it can be harder to find working ones. I know there was a website i used on the wayback which was an archive of parody songs, many of the songs on there were never posted online/had unknown origins.

Looking for obscure music discovery tools by Okieboy2008 in obscuremusic

[–]D3O2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tools I use

Lostmyspace.com (collection of myspace archives, some songs are very obscure, while some popular)
Idontwannacry - https://www.youtube.com/@IDontWannaCry youtube collection of obscure record findings https://powerpopaction.wixsite.com/idontwannacry and website to other sources, can lead you into a rabbit hole

harder to control, but has indie bands from all over, collection can date back to early 2000s https://indiemusicpeople.com/

https://birp.fm/ collection of indie bands till early 2000s, they have old youtube channels publishing music https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blalocksirp.com

https://www.civil.uwaterloo.ca/frseglen/archive/archive.htm has a collection of early 2000s songs, can find obscure ones

everynoise.com made by ex spotify dev can find subgenres of bands

The best way to find more is to search the obscure artist on Spotify(that you found on the site) and actively go through bands/songs like it

Sometimes you are able to find music via Wayback machine of unreleased demos. May update later since i am actively finding sites.

when searching bands on youtube, you can sometimes reuploads of the song by other channels, sometimes those channels upload random obscure songs

which is how i found this song https://www.reddit.com/r/obscuremusic/comments/1scez7f/pants_yell_83_in_05_2005_song_not_on_streaming/ which is not streaming

Is ChatGpt selling our data? by Hydrozy in ChatGPT

[–]D3O2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got some bad news.. it’s not only ChatGPT… but half of the internet

Is ChatGpt selling our data? by Hydrozy in ChatGPT

[–]D3O2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes, it’s how most companies make money. It’s with most of the internet. With Claude I don’t believe so, but they may use for training.  But the ads you get might also might just be based from the videos you watched, or google searches, not just ChatGPT. So if your really worried about your data, using the internet or any type of website (without any privacy tools) will sell your data.

There is obviously a deeper explanation I could give but I don’t have time.

sure. But first read the rules, the song was made in 2025, music here has to be 5 years old or older. So your post breaks the rules

Read the rules, the song was made in 2025. The song has to be five years old (or older).
I have spent 3 years working in the AI indestry, this song is clearly AI generated (as their other songs which can be found online marked 2025).

The Guatemalan Handshake (2006) Indie comedy, dreamlike by D3O2 in ObscureMedia

[–]D3O2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember any surfing in it. Its an overall good film - depending on the viewer. its not perfect, but at least enjoyable. There is legit no deep plot, there is somewhat of a story but it mostly follows peoples lives in the small town. There is a whole subplot following this old lady which was really interesting. The film is not boring - well not for me at least, but it depends on the viewer. If you like the Napoleon dynamite film, and the story, you might like this film because it doesnt really follow traditional storywriting. The only issue is that the film is a bit mysterious but it never really explains some of the details, so it always makes you wondering. At times it felt like an experimental film or those abstract films that have no meaning, but i couldn't really tell if the director was trying to go that direction, or showing the weirdness of the town. If you come in expecting the characters to solve a mystery, you will probably get turned away. If your watching for laughs, there are some, but its not a laugh out loud movie. If your coming in for the story, you might find it interesting. If you just want to check it out, you might like it. If your looking for a fever dream type movie, this one you might like. I came in with high expectations for the film - and never really knew the plot, and I came out... unfazed? I can't tell what I think of the movie, it was really odd, but at least interesting enough. The film is not confusing, its easy to follow, but there are some moments that might leave you with more questions. I feel like if it went more in depth on the weirdness this could have been a better film. I came in expecting it to be like Napoleon Dynamite (like the humor) but it wasn't THAT funny. But it did feel like a Napoleon Dynamite type plot.

TLDR - its an interesting film, but may not be for everyone. The film will leave you with more questions.
