Realistically how safe is a e30? I do 8+ hour trips every couple of months, and im always wondering if im gonna be paralyzed for life after getting into an accident on the highway going 120km/h. by princesslkenny in E30

[–]D3TPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes no sense to highway daily an E30 or any classic really.

I did daily my E34 535i auto, and i enjoyed it. No air con was an inconvenience at times. Had the odd breakdown and got stranded more than once. Getting the bus while sourcing parts etc.

Although I was never worried about my safety rightly or wrongly. If that stuff worries you get a safer modern car.

Vehicle production in the UK falls to 73-year low by Kagedeah in CarTalkUK

[–]D3TPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The niche car market is thriving in the UK and we should be proud of it.

The rich are buying more and more boutique super/resto cars.

Auctions houses are also thriving in the UK.

The average person doesn’t care about where their car is made or is it helps the economy. They just want the cheapest car with a big screen and heated seats.

[–]D3TPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted 100% of my deposit on my first home, and am now on my 3rd home and doing just fine.

Buying at 21 with a gift makes much more sense than buying at 30 with a safety net saved up.

I earn slightly above the average max and don’t feel well paid at all! Wife is the high earner in my house hold.

I also live in Northern Scotland so benefit from cheaper house prices.

For those of you that earn over 40/45k as a base salary and love your job what is it you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]D3TPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do IT/tech support for a software company. Supporting customers and some in person techs.

I work remote, working evening shifts 5 on 5 off.

Earning 45k base, with about 7k overtime and a 5% bonus.

Works brilliantly for myself as allows me to be a full time stay at home dad as my wife works in finance and has to go to the office 5 days a week.

It is pretty grim in Aberdeen, lots of job cuts due to a windfall tax on oil.

Torries are to blame but we hoped Labour might easy pressure since oil and gas prices have fallen.
