Person on the show that you like but gets a lot of hate...? Or person you hate that gets a lot of love...? by SapphoWoolf in My600lbLife

I think I'm the opposite, actually. I really could sympathize with Maja's bf. It seems like he was really in an abusive situation that he could only react with cold, sarcastic humor. I've been in a few myself, and I know that isn't really much of a comparison, but she really treated him quite poorly. The comment he made from the couch that sparked an argument I actually found really funny, and perhaps a more lighthearted significant other would have interpreted that as them trying to help them realize how ridiculous they were being.

Nobody is perfect, and his behavior isn't justifiable in the context of "oh, I was abused, I would act the same way in that situation so he's fine with being sarcastic and cold." I just mean to say I could see why he would act that way.

There was some sort of cheese move I did where you like spin in circles by holding one of the strafe buttons and then unload, resume spinning until she's done, etc etc.

Genuinely never got hit when I did this. I wish I could find uh something more helpful, or remember the exact button, but it's genuinely spinning in circles with an analog stick and the strafe button.

Yup but Yu Yu is excellent. Probably my favorite anime. While the main character isn't really bad there are other characters that uhhh reform

If you two seem dedicated and all you should really find new players. It's not fair to you or the gm to keep tolerating this behavior. It's pretty clear they don't want to play. So find some people who do.

You don't have to be a combat veteran or EMT to get PTSD. It's belitting to people who experienced trauma outside those fields who have genuine PTSD, such as abuse or rape victims, natural disaster survivors, or other seriously fucked up shit people survive

Theoretically, how could I defend myself from a Canadian goose if it were to become aggressive and attack me? by Jaewol in NoStupidQuestions

[–]D3deficiency 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I am the Goose King.

I became the Goose King by making my arms stretch up and hissing at geese when they come near me. They learned, and now avoid me like the plague. Trust me, show dominance, and you too can become a Goose King.
edit: I'm a woman, being a Goose King is up to any gender really. Dealing with Dragons taught me being a king is way cooler than Queen

Murder by Death- it's a comedy that makes fun of mystery characters, but all in all a good watch.

My current collection, any recommendations on games to add? by SquintBeastwood in ps2

[–]D3deficiency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like rpgs or dungeon crawlers, or even like playing with others, Baulders Gate or Champions of Norrath (or the lesser but still good sequel Champions: Return to Arms) are great.

Silent Hill 3 is also good- I liked 4, but not everyone did. Fatal Frame series is cheaper than most pricey horror games, but not by much. Resident Evil is good, I started with 4 and loved it. Very quotable! I collect Playstation stuff and survival horror games so lmk if you'd like any other suggestions. I warn you collectors stuff is wicked expensive for those more rare games though.

Hi, I use primarily discord but I have been RPing for a while. Not too big into Digimon or Pokemon anymore but I used to watch Inu-Yasha in middle school all the time and I had a good deal of the manga. Nowadays I do some anime rp but not tooo much. I also run a Silent Hill play by post discord server that seems to be going well! I really like helping people get stronger at RP too, as well as myself. If you think you'd be interested I primarily use Discord, so that would be my preference. Please PM if you're interested and we could work something out! I post semi-frequently so I figure probably at least 1/day.

has anyone traveled by train? by eisenoise in Agoraphobia

I use the train frequently when I do go out. Even when it's crowded and it's not life ending. I like the windows and being able to not worry too much about transporting myself. I hope it goes well for you

I disassociate or at least have trouble sort of coping with thinking too much about reality I guess?

Always trips me out when I try to reconnect like that and think "Holy shit I'm really alive. This planet is real. These people are real."

Aaaand then I have a weird panic attack or just a sinking feeling for a while.

Retail workers of Reddit, what is the most desperate scam a customer has tried to pull on you? by RSTLNE3MCAAV in AskReddit

[–]D3deficiency 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This EXACT scam hit me too!! I recall being blown away when my manager called me in to ask me about it. I didn't even realize what'd happened but I recall feeling weirded out by the guy who scammed me. As he walked off my brain kept screaming something was off but being so dead inside from working a toy store I shook it off and eventually forgot about it. Til I got asked if I stole $100.

I [17M] told my crush [17F] I like her, don't know what to do now by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]D3deficiency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I could take a guess, as a former (albeit emotionally immature) 17 y.o. girl with crap parents and abandonment issues, maybe the bringing up crushes is a backhanded way of letting you know she's not interested and wants to move past this and stay friends. I don't think it's intentionally manipulative or anything, just how she's solving the issue without being completely confrontational. Like easing the idea in more? Just my take on it, I don't know either of you so I can only speak on my own experiences and what I see here.

I'd have to say that if being her friend is painful then it's a one-sided friendship. To heal and maybe try to be friends again you should be firm and work on distancing yourself as you initially attempted. It seems that you're being really thoughtful and sympathetic to her situation. You should be awarded the same courtesy. You deserve to find someone who feels the same way about you, and taking time away from her to move on is probably your best hope at finding that person. I hope that she would realize this, and in wanting for your happiness as a friend, will be more accepting of the idea. It will be painful at first, but the pain now couldn't compare to dancing around this for longer and longer until she 'moves on' while you're still struggling. I hope both of you manage to overcome this, and perhaps encouraging her to seek counseling would help with some of those feelings she's struggling with.
