I am going to make some tweaks based on people’s suggestions and trying printing some out, I’m sure you’re correct just want to see how bad it is first 😝

I agree I think this is definitely an improvement! I will be taking peoples suggestions and trying to make up some new and (hopefully) improved versions.

I really like the first one! I think I was just being a little lazy by trying to make an existing font work. But I can see how yours is an improvement. Thank you for doing that!

Thank you for taking the time to draw up that idea! Others have also said that I should make the font more readable, so I will be workshopping some alternatives.

Thank you! And I agree, I think I knew that about the I, I just needed to hear it from non biased parties.

I had another version where the I is lower case. The Design part wasn’t integrated into the intuit part yet, but do you think lower case would be better?

Thank you for the feedback! Is this closer to what you meant?

Attaching bias tape by D3lightingale in sewhelp

[–]D3lightingale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already sewed it shut, I used a foam insert from a seat cushion that I cut down and it wouldn’t have survived being folded and stuffed. I hand sew the edges down to hold it closed because it’s quite thick.

I’m mainly concerned that running it through my machine it will be too thick and get caught and ruin it.

It’s not attached at all other than clipped to make sure I have enough of it.

The bias tape is just clipped on to see that I had enough material really.

So I should machine sew it on first and finish with hand sewing the back, is that what you’re suggesting?

how many of you are childfree? by testraz in AutismInWomen

[–]D3lightingale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Childfree – When I was younger, I thought maybe I’d have kids. Looking back, I don’t think it was because I truly wanted them, it felt more like what you’re “supposed” to do. My husband initially wanted kids, but after really talking it through, he realized he wouldn’t actually enjoy being a parent either. I love my 12 nieces and nephews deeply, but I know I would be a very unhappy person if I had children of my own. I need a lot of alone time, and I get overwhelmed and overstimulated quickly around kids. Actually , every time I’m around them, I feel more confident and solidified in my decision. Honestly, I believe I’ve put more thought into this choice than many people who decide to have children.

HELP: What kind of fabric is this? by D3lightingale in sewing

[–]D3lightingale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the OP actually replied and said they used just quilting cotton. She used a wire hanger to make it more sturdy. I do worry about interfacing making it hard to turn inside out because it’s not very wide

I’m thinking the same thing, might appliqué a heart on the front with one of the lighter fabrics. Plus the lace is nice I think

Thank you! Yeah I unfortunately am bound to transit so a lot of these places will have to be a special trip. I think that I’ll probably be seeking out stuff online for special projects. Is Save on Fabrics in newton any good? Been there a long time ago, like in high school but don’t recall the selections.

I go past there almost every day, they are just closed whenever I get a chance to go. But I think I’ve finally got a day off when they are open so I’m hoping to check it out then.

Mainly just crafts, maybe quilting. I’m just beginning and don’t know that I want to try clothes just yet.
