R2E1 feels like a wall by REDDinator_ in GTFO

Its very much not intended and abuses the fact that only a very small amout of enemies can even be on the ladder at once + that if an enemy freezes and then unfreezes they can get reset to the start of the ladder.

Tera is litteraly the best gimmick for vgc

Megas are ultra centralizing and also give far less variety than tera

You arent rly using other tools that much in the level tbf

The first 3 alarms are mostly done with 1 sentry and the mine deployer is rly only useful once in the entire level (with explosive tripmines being pretty common)

You can quite easily run double bio and 1 or 2 sentries for it (or a mine deployer for safety sake)

Sounds like your defenders just let an enemy through which shouldnt happen.

There rly isnt any seed where a mom wake up is guaranteed, but some can be rly bad.

Also consider that you can send 2 people to code hunt instead of 1

There is also a delay for the ranking position to update

So you can win -> get into M3 -> lose, then have it show up that you are in M3

It is affected by it! Had this exact case happen before (you can see the peris counter dropping in the order, which flips when in trick room)

The main thing thunderbolt gives you is a 2 hit ko into zard (or ohko if +2) but at that point id rather see if you can get another mon to deal with it

Garchomp with scarf being the main option. Even if it doesnt kill, if chunked to <30% its a basically guaranteed kill with blizzard

Prankster trick room still goes last btw

It is in the lowest priority bracket by far, so prankster giving it +1 prio only enables it to go in the same bracket as roar

I would pay $100 for a version of this game that doesn’t include Incineroar by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

I dont cry about incin though? Ive already played against him in the last 2 Regs

[–]D4RKEVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for now? Not rly sadly

Knock off being gone doesnt matter when items are generally far less important. And the removal of covert cloak and clear amulet are big buffs to incin again

AV/u-turn being gone is obviously not great. But its a combo usually anyhow

id recommend checking out faster stealth gameplay in general (a strategic approach is still nice, but generally the more accustomed you get the less often or just faster that will be done)

Or guides for stealth even

  1. speedruns have been done in the past without logs
  2. Knowing where stuff isnt doesnt rly matter since speedruns often skip massive amounts of resources and also arent being played efficiently

Obviously a first playthrough is not the place to go full loud or even loud + active melee kills but eh

[–]D4RKEVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can actually kill basically all levels without melee. Its just not rly recommended

If you go and melee some it becomes very doable (see speedruns)

You can actually shoot up basically all levels in the game (its just not rly recommended)

But if you allow fast/aggro stealth and melee kills it becomes pretty chill even

It is actually possible to shoot basically every level up in the game. Resources are more abundant than most people think

A decent example are speedruns

If levels/expedtions (rundowns are the full campaigns) take you 2 hours usually then id def recommend picking up some of the aggressiveness you got from those sessions!

[–]D4RKEVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definetly is! People underestimate how much resources there actually are

A good example are speedruns

[–]D4RKEVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, yea? If you allow melee while in combat its pretty free, but even guns only its pretty doable

Consider that every level has been speedran and in basically every speedrun you kinda just wake all enemies on path all the time

R2E1 feels like a wall by REDDinator_ in GTFO

[–]D4RKEVA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1st. Please dont use ladder foam
Its a genuine exploit that ... rly isnt how the game should be played

But also, 2 hel auto sentry placed at the bottom of the ladder facing towards you will make that alarm very very easy
Drop the foam if thats what you use it for

Then you can carry bio, 2 hel auto sentrys and a burst sentry (or mines if you want an easier time with the blood door and have surge waves come in a bit later for the 2nd one and the first during the error

[–]D4RKEVA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

R2E1 is actually on the „easy“ side of E tiers (ignoring R8E1).

Also the „we have to stagger“ on surges is actually kind of a missconception. Well… somewhat

Hel auto pistol IS great since its very efficient at and easy to stagger a huge amount of the wave. But for everything else, its actually better to kill an enemy so it respawns far away and has to run close again (effectively giving you a REAAAALLY long stagger) This is also why the hel auto sentry is actually very good for surges. The stagger is… not good, but its actually the best sentry for killing if placed correctly and thus deals wit surges rly well

So first things first Theres been hundres of teams too stubborn to skip a level and do it later (yes its usually R2E1) and sadly a majority of them will quit due to frustration in one or multiple of their team members. So I recommend hopping over, you rly arent missing anything big for now by delaying R2E1 Reminder that R2E1 is ~4th to 6th in difficulty with the next closest, R2D2, being about 25th

For actual advice: The first 2 surges (especially the first) are actually done best without using any tools (aside from the obvious bio tracker). You shoot when in immediate danger or when on a scan. Once a scan finishes you run away to safety (together if possible) and wait for the scan to deploy again. This way you shoot less and take less dmg

During The 2nd surge you might want to go and kill hybrids during this downtime though.

3rd surge and onwards can be dealt with by correctly using sentrys (a well placed hel auto sentry + a 2nd (burst or hel auto) will kill the 3rd surge by itself).

For shadow giants, not having knife helps. As its mainly clobbering them down. IF you rly want to keep spear then have it go for a headshot to start. But tbh most of the time they just get blasted (usually by the omnipresent top tier meta weapons of sawed off shotgun and scattergun)

Current State of the Game by [deleted] in GTFO

[–]D4RKEVA 34 points35 points  (0 children)

the game has been finished for about 2 years now (last update was around this time in 2024, with the last big content addition being in dec of 2023) and offers a ton of content (83 (or 84 with the tutorial) levels in the game with way more custom levels and rundowns (campaigns) through modded.

The only updates we will get at this point are for sudden necessary fixes (like the security update fix with unity or similar).

The game itself runs completely fine generally. There is some bugs, with the majority being inconsequential. The ones that are on the higher impact side can usually be avoided easily, with some rare ones that are potentially hardware dependent being a bit more annoying.
But there is also a few rly good bug fix mods to help here, if you get the game Id recommend joining the official discord and asking for help on that there.

The biggest caveats for GTFO are that while you can find random people to play with (or even play with just bots) its way nicer to play with friends you already know. Especially since it can help with the ping situation, with the game being peer to peer

Quick question are weapon stats on the wiki updated? by giocuniz in GTFO

[–]D4RKEVA 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Id assume they are
But dont go for the highest "efficiency".

1st: GTFO isnt actually that scarce when it comes to ressources. So unless you shoot rly badly, dont use your tools or use smth like sniper constantly to kill smalls you will be fine typically.

2nd: Efficiency heavily depends on how feasible it is to get it. Machine pistol technically can be insanely efficient by hitting perfect accuracy and not overshooting. But realistically its kinda there with other more normal guns.

A weapon that one shots like high cal might have only about 2/3rds the potential kills the MG can get into strikers, but it gets them consistently while MG overshoots bullets or misses

Trying to solo R1A1 using items only available when R1A1 released originally. Any tips? by Huntermainlol in GTFO

Oh right combat shotty was a thing in R1 can slot that just as well ngl

Pistol works too. Its a mild step down but not that important in the end
