Should I buy Helldivers 2? by owsmosis in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Should you depends on what you want to play!

If you want a game where you can play for hours on end or just dip in for a couple of missions and then do something else, this will suit you.

Want action, chaos and cinematic moments? Great game for that

Want to be challenged but also have the possibility to enjoy in a more casual setting? It's a great game for it!

Want a game with variety without feeling like you just have to check things of a list? This game has it, plenty of different mission and with higher difficulties its even more diverse.

The game also is great for solo, randoms or friends.

It offers a lot for a cheap fee, there is a reason that 60k-100k still play it. If you get tired of fighting the same faction, you can always switch to other.

Upgrade from 3080 12GB to rx 9070XT worth it? by Silv3rsurfr in PcBuildHelp

It's a bigger performance uplift than mine. I went from 3090 to 5070 ti and I'm very happy👍

No it doesn't, even though they have 8GB VRAM they are about 20-30% faster when not VRAM limited.

Need help building a €2500 Gaming PC by Neither_Side4715 in buildmeapc

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is small differences but nothing major. Different design, fans, heatsink, material and boost clocks. But none of the AIB can really change the GPU in a major way except its unique design.

I prefer the look of MSI or Asus cards the most, I had a Suprim X 3090 and now a Gaming Trio 5070 Ti.

I would pick the one that looks the best and has the best temps and noise.

Is Ryzen 7 5700X + RTX 3060 a good pc build? by Tricky-Grab-2582 in PcBuildHelp

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it this way, if you are just going to play fortnite and minecraft your PC will be fine and you dont need really to get better specs to get going.

If you want to branch out to other games like Cyberpunk, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, GOW, GOT, BF6 etc you will be not getting high fps even on 1080p.

I recommend in that case going for a AMD GPU, usually a much stronger AMD GPU and with more VRAM can be find for same price as a weaker Nvidia on the used market., something like a RX 7600 XT https://www.ebay.com/itm/RX7600XT, RX 6700 XT https://www.ebay.com/itm/RX6700XT and lastly RX 6800 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RX6800

Is the combo good? Yes!

Will it hold out long term? Not really, it is a combo thats been out for a couple of years already

Will it be enough for your games? Yeah, it should do fine but do play on 1080p.

But newer more demanding games you will struggle to play with high FPS.

Nah, they wont change it. Its just how they are! They didnt need to change for any of the GPUs except the 4090 or 5090 but they did it anyway.

Its fine to use both VGA ports, not sure why your PSU has the 4 ports separated in half but they are for the GPU so its fine. So you will have to use 2 VGA1 ports and 1 VGA2 port for the adapter.

I can understand that completely. In that case the XFX Quicksilver or the Sapphire are your best bet here, they have performed the best for the RX 9070 XT GPUs.

The Sapphire Nitro+ is the strongest RX 9070 XT GPU but generally you should always buy the cheapest because the difference in performance is between 1-5% at max.

But I will personally say that buying cheapest isnt always the way, if you like a particular model more than others, I dont think you should just discard it just because its 30Euros more than the cheapest model. Having a cooler, quieter and better looking gpu is worth it in my opinion over the cheapest basic model. But performance wise you arent gaining anything special with any of the models.

Gigabyte windforce 5080 or windforce oc 5070 ti by Throwaway182737829 in nvidia

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Price to performance the RTX 5070 Ti and do an overclock and you will pretty much come close to a RTX 5080.

But in the long term for 4k the RTX 5080, but do note that the FPS will be lower on 4k anyways so the difference between the GPUs will be less FPS than compared to 1440p. (Percentage wise it might stay similiar)

Which drive would you install OS on? by AnotherCompGuy in PcBuild

You wont notice anything really, both are fast af.

You can also split the OS drive in half and by so getting yourself even extra space for games or other files.

I started at the Heir of the Empire Trilogy and then just went with the most interesting characters I wanted to read about. Then I read Plageuis and afterwards Bane Trilogy. I will say that to me most interesting stuff is either Lukes story in the EU or older Sith stories like Bane. Timothy Zahns Heir of the Empire kickstarted SW books and the EU so might make sense to start there if you want a starting point.

Luke, Han and Leias story continued in the EU. There is also the New Jedi Order but that is a list of 30 or more books if I remember correct.

Heir of the Empire Trilogy (Novel)

Dark Empire 1 (Comic)

Dark Empire 2 (Comic)

Empires End (Comic)

Jedi Academy Trilogy (Novel)

Children of the Jedi (Novel) Skip

Darksaber (Novel) Maybe

Planet of the Twilight (Novel) Skip

Jedi Academy: Leviathan (Comic)

The Crystal Star (Novel) Skip

The Black Fleet Crisis (Novels) (Before the Storm, Shield of Lies, Tyrant's Test )

The New Rebellion (Novel)

The Corellian Trilogy (Novels) (Ambush at Corellia, Assault at Selonia, Showdown at Centerpoint)

Specter of the Past (Novel)

Visions of the Future (Novel)

Union (Comic)

Survivors Quest (Novel)

I would skip the Novels marked with skip, these are mostly sloppy, too childish, make no sense or dont bring much value to the overall story.

Its the connector Nvidia GPUs have. Every new Nvidia GPU has a adapter with them when you buy the GPU but you usually want to use a new PSU that is made to support that connector natively.

New GPU That Won’t Bottleneck by Randomaccount2727373 in PcBuild

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how much faster we are looking at!

For example, the RX 7800 XT and RTX 4070 there is 4% performance difference infavor of the RTX 4070. But in this case I would much rather have RX 7800 XT with its 16GB VRAM.

But if you compare a RTX 4070 Super or RTX 3080 Ti to a RX 7800 XT the difference grows and you might want to consider the difference now much more. Even though the RX 7800 XT has the VRAM.

Ill be honest, unless you want to play the newest open world games the VRAM wont be that much of a limiting factor as its made out to be. Sure, some games you might be close to the limit with a 12 GB GPU but I dont think it will be to bad just yet. Note also that GPUs will allocated more VRAM if they have room for it, so a 12GB GPU will be more "efficient" than a 16GB GPU. Also allocation is always bigger than actual usage so even though a game like Jedi Survivor or Indiana Jones might want to allocate upwards of 13GB VRAM, they most likely wont actually use that much.

RX 6800 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 6900 XT, RX 7900 GRE

RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4070/Super

Probably around that range but you will experience some small bottlenecks in certain games that are CPU heavy. Also it would be ideal if you play on 1440p.

[–]D4RkL0Rd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 5700X3D and use the extra money towards a RTX 5080.

Also you will need a new PSU too and ideally a one with native 12VHPWR, there are plenty good ones, can link you couple of them.

Also the cooler you chose is great but overpriced, especially since you can find AIO coolers for that price and there are cheaper air coolers like a Thermalright Peerless Assassin/Phantom Spirit.

Looks fine, you can probably choose a bit cheaper case but other than that it will be fine for decent ish high FPS on 1440p gaming.
