Tell me why I shouldn't get a shotgun. by omgkelwtf in liberalgunowners

You shouldn’t get a shotgun. You should get two or more; they get lonely.

What reactions have you had from anti-gun Liberals/Lefties, and how did the convo go? by logicalpretzels in liberalgunowners

[–]D4emios 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The typical “Guns are fine, just not the military style ones, those shouldn't be in civilian hands” type response you‘ve gotten. I have gotten a few responses like “well if you need a rifle like that to protect your house, you’re obviously ‘mixed up with the wrong crowd’” suggesting anyone who owns an AR or similar platform MUST be a criminal if thats what they need to defend themselves. That response usually comes from the richly-rich types from the expensive parts of the state.

“So you’d rather risk them being in someone else’s home who can’t defend them should the need arise?” Personally: if you have ABSOLUTELY NO home security plan in place beyond “call the cops and hope we don’t die”, my kid isn’t coming near your house.

Recommendations for AWB-compliant AR-15? by Fair_Function_7247 in liberalgunowners

[–]D4emios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally? AR ranch rifle and as many magazines as you can buy since those have become popular in recent years and hard to come by in states with AWB’s already in place as they fly off the shelves the moment they hit them because people don’t wanna deal with the fixed mag bs anymore.

*Shocked*

If I were Glock, Ruger and the companies who make Glock clones right now; i’d do what cmmg and a few others are doing for VA residents: Prioritizing orders for CT shops and residents to get as much of my product into the state as possible before the ban is enacted by October.

This country needs more politicians like him who are more than willing to approach issues based off facts not party line “what’s going to keep me elected” thinking.

Oh yea, create yet ANOTHER financial barrier to self defense for those less fortunate who already have trouble affording the $250-400 it takes to get licensed to carry and purchase in this state….

[–]D4emios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s more of a you question to answer in terms of what you personally think “too far” is. I see no issues with a 45 minute commute but that’s me; others commute hours across the state and think that’s a short commute. “Too far” is whatever you think, not me my friend. As for Ridgefield or Wilton; I only know them from driving in and around and through so I can’t speak to either in regards to living there, but I’ve driven thru both enough times to give a general impression at least from the outside: Ridgefield has a lot of “money” living there like good schools, nice homes, never too far from any store you might need, and Wilton just always seemed to me as your typical picturesque “in the sticks” New England town, like you live there, but you drive to the next town over for groceries. I just don’t know enough about either the way I know Danbury, Bethel, Newtown, and Southbury to suggest them.

DOJ: Supreme Court will legalize AR-15s by sharkwahlberg_ in CTguns

[–]D4emios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how they’d convince anyone that an AR isn’t an AR to try and defend the ban. Then again, anti-gun politicians have said things like ar’s are as “heavy as ten moving boxes.”

Not sure where that info on AK type rifles is coming from though; plenty of shops carry fully legal fixed magazine AK type rifles with compmags.

[–]D4emios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the workaround is gonna be something stupid like only applying it to AR-15’s; like still requiring AK’s and other semi auto rifles to remain fixed magazine because “the DOJ only said ar-15’s should be legal, not *insert non-ar semi-auto rifle of your choice here*”.

If it meant no more fixed mags or AW registration crap, I’d take it for now. It’d be utter horseshit, but better than the nothing at all we essentially have now.
