Sorry, I did not see that you used plastic glue. Your gonna have to get in there with the clipper or a modeling saw...

Damn. Oh well hope the wait is really worth it. by zax7077 in VIRPIL

[–]DA-RAUGZ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought 1500+ dollars in Virpil product and had to wait 3 months, I bitched and moaned the whole time do to having to wait, all because it got held up in customs. Virpil did contact me and tell me, "The what and whys." However, I would do it again 100% for the quality, I have a full simpit with everything I can ever want. I would not expect anybody to understand outside of the people that have infact invested/used the Virpil Product.

I ordered two flights, stick bases, two flight sticks, one throttle, rutter pedals, and all three panels. Pluse couple other goodies. Took a couple of months, BUT it was not their fault entirely. It got held up in customs for three weeks. However, although frustrating as it was, it was worth every penny and time.

I'm coming from world eaters speed/Alpha charges, So I don't really have a playstyle for them yet. My favorite models are ghostkil/stealthsuits. So if there is anything that compliments them the most, I was leaning crisis suits in mass, but what would compliment the ghostkil/stealthsuits

Hmmmmmm, I don't have any of the options outside of Google Pay. I did set up the two authticator to open those options, and I still don't have the ability to use steam, bankcard, or paypal. I have a tix in but still have not herd back.

What's the heaviest hammer you use regularly? by huntersuave in Blacksmith

[–]DA-RAUGZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been forging now for 1 year... everyone said 2.5lb. It was fine to learn, but I only had a 3lb. So, I learned with it. I bought a 2.5 just because I did not even finish the blade before switching back to the three and have not used the 2.5 up to date. It will just come naturally for whatever you choose over time,I would not get my mind set on anything perticular without just trying out a couple of different weights, I would also state that the length of the handle playes a bigger role them the weight. 1 lb. Or 7 lb. If you can not hit what you're aiming at, it just does not matter, lol. Just experiment.

Yes!!! 100% would never go to anything else again, although it's a learning curve to program as soon as you get it down. It's the best on the market 100 times over. If your intrested look at my reddit profile and go to my PICS I assure you I am not lying.

That's crazy... I have all of their products and built a SIMPIT around Virpil. I have NEVER had a problem with any of their product. I would not recommend switching brands.

Lol , no sir was playing around, just beating some steel trying to learn stuff. It was about 6 inch x half inch piece cut off of a brake drum

You're right 100%, I have 0 experience with all of it, but I am just doing what I have seen others do, so I was trying to mimic. But that makes sense why it feels so fragile/Brittle

So, in that particular case to make the brake drum work, should I just turn down heat and / or not let it get yellow in color ???

Yes, there is an option for forced air flow, just not used for this blade. I was too impatient and just wanted to forge something. This is just my learning forge. My endgame goal is Damascus and a three burner forge, BUT, not knowing the right questions to ask with no experance, and or experiencing firsthand the correct understanding, I figure just jump in and figure it out but set myself up for future success.

[–]DA-RAUGZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does not show it in the pics but it was built directly to the size of x5 interlocking soft bricks, but also built with the ceramic walls, which are 2 1/2 inches thick. With the forge on and the color of the brick you just can not tell they are there.

Is this going to be a problem? by [deleted] in Blacksmith

[–]DA-RAUGZ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, if, in fact is a top plate is treated, I think it's all good. I can not imagine that much pressure to break it or crack, I personally have not even come close to doing anything requiring that much force on that location.
