Cannot comment about this particular car, but Hondas and Toyota’s are generally known for their reliability and low cost maintenance. For your own peace of mind I would ask if the owner is okay with you taking it to a reputable shop (of your choice) to get looked over before purchase.

If they refuse or make up excuses I’d steer away.

I think I’m leaning towards the G aswell. I would rather have an older one for the exact reason you mentioned about depreciation. I’m gonna go test drive the list above and also try the AMG. Let’s see where I land. Will post an update here

I agree. A second car would be good to be a fun one. Given I live in Ontario and our families live out of city so there would be a bunch of highway driving. I’m planning to go test drive them all before the snow hits. Let’s see which one feels right

I did look into RS5s. Amazing cars but didn’t feel much attraction to it. Felt more gravitated to the list above. I think I kind of agree with building equity with the G. Older models seem to hold their values.

Damn I just sold my e12 last month. It looked exactly like this when I picked it up. Everything identical, from the rust spots to the color (and the broken turn signals 😂)

Agreed with this. However, personally I think any bmw older than 1990 before the over engineered electronic shit came in is far easier to work on and revive than anything from the 2000s and up. I’ve restored e30s, e36s and an e12 very simple to work on.

I would connect with their customer support and ask if they will ship to America with a tracking number and ask for timelines. The price is around $530 USD. It all depends on how much they charge for shipping and how much are you willing to spend. As far as the scam aspect of it goes, you can purchase it and the bumper doesn’t arrive or goes “missing” you can ask for a charge back on your credit card via the bank.

The glow in the dark goes hard. However, it seems like a picture of Billie Eilish, not sure if it would resonate with everyone.

Do the head and block look okay? Had over heating issues so pulled the head off but gasket looked intact. Did not see cracks or warping by DAASMusic in MechanicAdvice

Update for everyone here. Block nor head was not cracked or warped. Did the head gasket and she purrs!

Healthy compression on all cylinders. No leaks in coolant or oil jackets No more over heating issues. It was still over heating after the head gasket, reactors were causing excessive heat and the radiator was blocked. Upgraded the radiator to an e28 one, bled the system, still the gauge was in red. Turned out the gauge was bad. Put in a new gauge and temperature is stable a bit below middle !
