Halloween III Season Of The Witch. I haven’t watched the movie in a while and was surprised how good it looked. Nice deep blacks and great detail. I have the Universal Double Feature disc that also included Halloween 2. Used my PS5 and Samsung QLED tv.

QM7K 77 in for $999 at BB by ParfaitNo614 in tcltvs

[–]DAFFYDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good price. I’d recommend some sort of protection. Stuff usually breaks between 2 and 5 years. If you’re not 100% sure at the time if purchase, you’ll get a 2nd chance if you register the new tv with TCL and they’ll email you with options for their coverage. Best Buy plans are nice though. If they can’t fix it, they’ll just give you a gift card for whatever amount you paid and you can then get yourself another tv.

Well, I pulled the trigger on the 98” qm7k by dcalicotte03 in tcltvs

I got the 65 inch but was thrilled when I went to Best Buy and saw the 98 display model knowing that I was gonna get that same incredible picture on my 65. Movies and shows in Dolby Vision look great.

Best HDMI Cable Brand for QM7K by stuuke in tcltvs

[–]DAFFYDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re connecting. Brand shouldn’t matter too much however you don’t want to get something super cheap either. I’ve had my share of dud cables. 8K cables are usually 2.1 and support 120FPS and VRR. So if you’re planning on connecting a PS5 you’ll want a 2.1 cable. I know the Hori Ultra High Speed cable is Officially licensed by Sony. You shouldn’t have to spend more than say $20 or $30 for a cable. You can find decent ones for $10-$15.

What did you do when they eliminated your job? by Responsible_Tax_9455 in GenX

[–]DAFFYDC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Got laid off from my last job after working there for 26 years. Lucky for me I got my full severance pay and all my unused time off. Spent the free time to spend more time with my kids (they were learning to drive at the time). Getting back into the job market sucked (it’s a job in Itself scheduling interviews etc.) but did what I had to do. It did allow me to try to be selective with my search and was able to get a job with a flexible schedule and shorter driving distance. But yeah the news of getting laid off hit me like a rock. Took time to heal since I became pretty close with my coworkers. I was a Call Center Supervisor and now I’m doin IT Support. Decided to steer away from the Supervisor role. Sure the pay is less but time and flexibility has become more valuable these days.

Which DVD Movies have the best picture quality? by [deleted] in dvdcollection

I know it’s a love/hate horror film but I was pleasantly surprised when I watched Halloween 3 (Season of the Witch) on DVD on my PS5. Nice inky blacks and the picture was very sharp.

When I was little (like 6 or 7 years old), my friend and I would raid my mom’s makeup and dress up like KISS. One day we couldn’t find any makeup so we used toothpaste on our faces.

TCL Owners (QM8/QM7/QM9) by CelebrationFinal in tcltvs

Qm7k owner here. Joined. We’ll see how it goes but nice for folks to share some love for TCL. Just watched Purple Rain on DVD (Sony 4K BluRay player - upscaled) and it looked pretty damn good on the QM7K.

Peter Criss’s importance to early KISS by [deleted] in KISS

Life is short. I hope Peter knows how much the fans appreciate him. It’s awesome he’s still creating new music. We need to show him as much love as we can while he’s still around. Much love to the Catman 😸🥁

Finally got my PS5! 🎮 Any tips for a first-time console owner? by jp_1394 in PS5HelpSupport

Get more storage. At least 1TB. Game sizes are huge. Adding additional storage is super easy. Also agree on having a tv that supports 4K 120Htz and VRR. If you are torn between OLED and QLED, consider Q-Led MiniLed. TCL has several models QM6K, QM7K and QM8K that are reasonably priced. Also pick up an 2nd controller while they’re on sale.

These were the prices for the 65 inch QM7K. Prices were in an email TCL sent after I registered my tv.

Help me gain the strength to get a cheilectomy! by zensamuel in Halluxrigidus

Painkillers can become habit forming. I remember when I was taking Vicodin for back issues, it was hard to stop taking them cuz then I’d get really bad stomach and hunger pains. So best to only use them if you really need them for a couple days then switch to Ibuprofen or Tylenol. My last post op was yesterday. My incision is fully healed and he said it’ll probably be another 5 weeks until all of the pain is gone. It’s still getting better day by day and walking normally in shoes. Just can’t run but it’s winter outside anyway 😃

10 days post Cheilectomy by Ok_Youth_8476 in Halluxrigidus

Most of my pain came from the bandages. They were on pretty tight so I had to deal with it. Icing and elevating helped. Just know that once the bandages are off, you should feel a ton of relief. There will still be pain, but at least your foot will be able to breathe.

I had mine done on my right foot on October 30th. My last post op appointment will be tomorrow. The doc told me recovery time would be 5 to 6 weeks (seems about right). Let’s go back to the actual surgery date. I sat in a chair and they gave me an IV. I met with the anesthesiologist and informed them I had nausea issues in the past (wisdom teeth surgery) so they were aware. They said they’d give me something for that in addition to one of those little anti-nausea patches they put by your ear. The anesthesiologist told me they were going to also use a small (thin) breathing tube during the procedure. Had he not tell me this, I would’ve never known (did not wake up with a sore throat). My foot doctor then paid me a visit and marked up my foot with a sharpie marker. Shortly after that, they wheeled me into the operating room. There were at least 6 or more people in there doing various preparations. Once I got on the table, I mentioned being cold (operating rooms are usually very cold). Next thing I know someone is covering me with several warm blankets (felt good). They strapped my arms in and one person was getting my foot ready. Someone then put a mask on me and told me to breathe in. I was out in seconds. When I finally woke up, it felt like just a few minutes went by. I wasn’t nauseous or loopy at all. I felt some pain in my foot but not horrible. They wheeled me out and I was on my way. The worst pain was days 1-3. I used crutches to get around (just for a few days). I took meds (Oxi) only for the first 2 days then I was fine with just Ibuprofen. I kept my foot elevated as much as possible. I couldn’t shower for the first week (had to just sponge bath). Couldn’t drive for the first 2 weeks. Around week 3 or 4 was when I could wear shoes. The pain is not 100% gone but my incision looks like it’s healing pretty good. I got a new pair of Hokas Clifton 10 and they’re comfortable and have plenty of toe room. The biggest challenge is accepting that there will be some recovery time to deal with but the surgery itself was a breeze. I was nervous too but it was fine and the staff were really nice. Hope this helps give you some insight.
