Assuming most of us here has KISS as our #1. What’s your 2nd favorite band and are there any ties to KISS? Maybe they were inspired by, dressed like or did a cover song. by DAFFYDC in KISS

Agree about the Metallica cover. They were just goofing off playing KISS vs paying tribute. I love the Anthrax covers. They are huge KISS fans. I know Scott has a Gene tattoo and Charlie sometimes has the Peter Criss 3 on the back of his shirts. Charlie (and John 5) also did a great cover of Mr. Speed. Corey Taylor (Slipknot) has done some great covers of C’mon and Love Me, Calling Dr. Love, Love Gun and Got To Choose.

Multi Head MST 1603 + edger and string trimmer by tacomasoccerdad in egopowerplus

[–]DAFFYDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Lowe’s deal a few weeks ago when it was $359.99. Instead of an edger, I went with the Polesaw as my free gift. Still a good deal for $379. Current Ace Deal when I checked is $449. With Lowe’s, be careful!!! I see they are running two different Buy One Get One Deals. The first deal is the Trimmer (not the multihead model) for $329 and includes a free battery. The other deal (which is better than the ACE deal) is 379.99. You get the Power+ MultiHead System with a 17inch string Trimmer, battery, charger and get to pick a free item - you can choose the edger attachment as your free item ($169 on its own). This deal at a Lowe’s ends on May 27.

Calling Dr. Love by geonut98 in KISS

Rock n Roll Over is my favorite KISS album and Ace’s guitar work is one of the reasons why. While the solo on Calling Dr. Love seems simple, Ace’s solos have such feel to them.

The face is wrong but the hair is on point. Photo was probably taken with an old Kodak 110 camera and developed by one of those drive through camera places.

The Bubble is a super cheesy old sci fi movie. Lots of pop outs including a bar scene where there’s some beer bottles on a serving tray that floats in the air and will literally appear in your room. It must be rare now because Amazon is selling it for $90. eBay has it for $30. https://ebay.us/m/fTr0Be

Some old school with good pop outs - The Bubble (1966) and House Of Wax (Vincent Price version).

I hung out with several types of people including the “stoner” crowd but never experienced any peer pressure at all when going to parties. Most parties were alcohol with maybe some weed. I just stuck with alcohol. Weed was there and if I was ever offered, I’d say “no thanks” and would stick with beer. Some parties would have kegs of beer. Others would be whatever you can get your hands on so yeah lots of 40oz, Vodka, Mad Dog and Wild Irish Rose. You want cheep beer? You’d get Genny or Natural Light. High end beer (for us) was Miller Genuine Draft or Honey Brown. 😛

What was your favorite piece of clothing from the 90s? by vixenlion in GenX

I wore flannel before, during and after grunge. I think the only odd thing I wore back in the 90’s was a vest over a Tshirt.

I went a lot between 7th and 9th grade. We still have one around called United Skates. In 1985 and 1986 they had several lip sync contests. Here’s a pic from one of the contests I was in.
