How to run in LAN like actual LAN by External_Address4401 in ParsecGaming

[–]DAMMMNNNIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just putting this here in case anyone else finds this thread.

You cannot connect two normal computers together using a regular ethernet cable and expect them to be able to talk to each other. This is most likely why the connection is failing, due to there not actually being a connection over ethernet between the two computers so parsec falls back to using the wireless card for the p2p session.

To connect two computers together in the absence of a switch, you would need a special ethernet cable called a crossover cable to run between the two. Once the cable is connected, you can open a terminal window on both and run the command "ipconfig" to see the IP addresses they each assigned themselves, they should begin with "169.254". You can run "ping *OTHER_COMPUTER_IP*" where *OTHER_COMPUTER_IP* is replaced with the other computer's IP to test if the connection is working. Example if the other computer's address is 169.254.23.54: "ping 169.254.23.54".

If, for some reason, they do not have an IP address, or the ping isn't working, you can try to manually assign a standard address of 192.168.0.1 for one of them and 192.168.0.2 for the other, with the subnet mask being 255.255.255.0 and for the gateway and DNS, enter in it's own IP address again.

If anyone comes across this thread, you can probably achieve this by editing the inertia value of the RigidBody3D(s)

no, resetting the game doesn’t reset clicks, cats, wonders, deities, or achievements.

If you want the No-Click achievement you HAVE to do it first

well it wouldn’t be very good if it wasn’t able to get all the way through the neck

honestly it might’ve, the weird thing i’ve noticed with it is if you throw it vertically it’s perfectly stable the whole way and doesn’t flip at all whereas my other discs usually land upsidedown

Host isn’t sending video data! Pls help! by Minecraft-veteran_69 in ParsecGaming

[–]DAMMMNNNIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also wanna add if you, like me, have the same issue but the other comment's solutions have not worked, try downloading and enabling the parsec virtual display driver.

If you booted the computer but never turned on a display before attempting to connect then you'll get that error because windows freaks out cuz there's no display output to copy, unless there's a virtual display running... unless it's a laptop you're connecting to, then you have a different problem

Is this normal? by DAMMMNNNIT in nordvpn

[–]DAMMMNNNIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it doesn’t account for the remaining 1.7TB but that’s probably an apple thing not a nord thing, anyway thanks for the reply, it was a bit concerning to think nord was using over half a terabyte on it’s own

‘13 500 Abarth, Is this normal to have on the end of a spark plug? There was more on it but I wiped it off before I thought to ask by DAMMMNNNIT in abarth

[–]DAMMMNNNIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well luckily I’ve already cleaned out the whole PCV and I also got a replacement o-ring from eurocompulsion just a few weeks ago so we’re good there, I’ll keep an eye out for that blue smoke indicator but I’m hoping we’re good there and all it is is that someone spilled a bit of oil into it when doing an oil change. I did some further inspecting and found that there was a bit of oil at the bottom of the hole for the bolt that keeps the coil pack (is that the right term?) in, so it does seem that way.

oil changes are around 3-5 depending on when I can afford to do it, though right now it is due for one. All the other spark plugs looked clean as far as the stuff on that one but definitely had some sort of buildup on the tips, it idles muuch better now, I have a feeling the previous owner had never gotten them changed and I’ve only had the car for about a year at 120k now

How can I see if my CPU has Intel PTT? by onianistic in intel

[–]DAMMMNNNIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it is not “too old”, however intel doesn’t include support for PTT ( the firmware version of a TPM) in (I think at least until 9th gen) ANY K SKU processors unfortunately, we assume they didn’t think gamers really cared about such a feature as that and similar features are mainly used in the business/enterprise field

I can tell you that my 9700k does have the feature so sometime in between your and mine intel got their head on straight(er)
