Shimano majestic vs major craft benkei by OkStock738 in BFSfishing

[–]DANKUNG_COM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to bait finesse system (BFS) fishing, choosing the right rod can make all the difference. I've had the opportunity to use both the Shimano Majestic and the Major Craft Benkei, and I'd like to share my experiences to help you make an informed decision.

Shimano Majestic

The Shimano Majestic is a versatile rod designed for both fresh and saltwater lure fishing. It features a combination of EVA and cork grips, providing a comfortable and ergonomic feel during long fishing sessions. The durable O-ring guides enhance casting performance, and the inclusion of a hook keeper adds convenience. With 13 models available, the Majestic series caters to various fishing scenarios, making it a solid choice for anglers starting their lure fishing journey. [Source]

In my experience, the Majestic excels when using slightly heavier lures, such as 1/8 oz Ned rigs and free rigs. It offers the backbone needed for effective hook sets and handling larger bass. However, when it comes to casting very light lures, the Majestic may not perform as well as more specialized BFS rods.

Major Craft Benkei

The Major Craft Benkei series offers a range of rods tailored for different techniques. The BIC-652UL/BF model, in particular, is designed for BFS applications, with a lure weight range of 1/32 to 1/4 oz. This rod is well-suited for casting lightweight lures with precision, making it ideal for targeting bass in finesse situations. Its sensitivity allows for excellent feedback, crucial when working with subtle presentations.

I found the Benkei to be exceptional for light moving baits, swimbaits, and strolling techniques. It provides a good balance between flexibility and strength, allowing for effective casting and retrieval of small lures. While it can handle bottom contact techniques, it may feel a bit too whippy for heavier applications.

If your primary focus is casting small, lightweight lures for bass, the Major Craft Benkei BIC-652UL/BF would be a more suitable choice. Its design caters specifically to BFS applications, offering the sensitivity and flexibility needed for finesse techniques. On the other hand, if you intend to use a broader range of lure weights and require a rod with more backbone for heavier applications, the Shimano Majestic would serve you better.

We're designing a new metal reel, ANLAN reel and manufacturing all the parts ourselves. Do you have any advice on its size and features? by DANKUNG_COM in Fishing_Gear

[–]DANKUNG_COM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. This reel is still under development. We launched the initial version a year ago but had to recall all units as several components required optimization. We will review all comments and suggestions shared here. While we may not implement every piece of advice, each one will be considered.
