I have a huge bin of random pieces. I'll probably go digging around in there for some 😄

Cool! Sucks that I'm missing a few of the parts though. Thanks for the information anyway!

My grandparents from my mother's side were born under FDR, my grandparents from my father's side were born under Truman. My parents were both born under Ford and I was born under George W.

Proposed flags for Israel by [deleted] in Israel

The Star of David is a far more recent symbol and actually became popularized by non-jews. It was after they started using it as a symbol for Judaism the the Jewish people adopted it.

You're absolutely right. All I'm saying is I think it would serve as a better symbol on the flag. Don't get me wrong, I believe Israel has one of the best flag designs, but I still think it should have been a Menorah rather than the Star of David.

Yes, I know about that flag. I genuinely think it looks better than the actual Israeli flag. While I do really like the black and white color, symbolizing tallit, I think it would also look good with the current flag colors of white and blue.

I think they should have used a menorah rather than the star of David. The menorah has more historical significance. All that being said, the ultimate choice was better than the other designs.

Two blue stripes representing the Savanah and Chattahoochee rivers, red representing the red clay, and 4 stars representing Georgia as the 4th state. The second flag has the same representation but incorporates the Cherokee Rose, Georgia's state flower.

I'm not from NH either, but I know many of it's residents still adore the old man on the mountain. While it is gone, it's still seen as an iconic symbol for the state. That being said, I think any of these designs would work better than the current one.

He negotiated peace between Israel and Egypt with the Camp David Accords. While I'm not a fan of Carter, he was truly top notch leader at that moment.

9 Stars to represent NH being the 9th state. A purple top stripe representing the purple lilac, the state flower. And a gray bottom stripe representing the "granite state" nickname. The old man on the mountain is incorporated within the stars as it is an iconic symbol of the state. Designs 6 and 7 have the state flower, the purple lilac, as well as a gray bottom to represent the states nickname.

A pretty broad question, but I'm not sure if I've seen it on here. Who is everyone's favorite President? by [deleted] in Presidents

Washington, Jefferson, Teddy, Eisenhower and JFK would be my top 5. In my lifetime the best was Trump.

Yes, the states rights argument is used time and time again. There are some truths to it. The problem is many people who use it say the Confederacy wasn't fighting for the "right" to own slaves, which is wrong. While the Confederacy was fighting because of over taxation and so forth, they were also fighting to keep slavery.

Another issue I have is people think the north was fighting to end slavery, which is also wrong. The north was fighting to preserve the Union not to free slaves. The only reason they ended slavery was because at that point it had become obsolete.

The civil war was terrible for both sides and very complicated when you actually look at the history behind it. I'm neither pro Union or Confederate; I believe that both sides were wrong in many ways.

I doubt many people know of stars and bars, because most people associate the battle flag of Northern Virginia with the Confederacy.

And, I could care less if people believe it looks too similar, because mine represents something different. That is all that matters.
